Business Development Officer

Job Description

    Summary 

A sales officer in a translation services company is responsible for generating new business, expanding the customer base, and increasing revenue by selling the company’s translation services to potential clients.

To be successful in this role, a sales officer in translation services should have excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. They should be able to work independently and as part of a team, have strong organizational and time management skills, and be proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools. Fluency in multiple languages and knowledge of different cultures and business practices may also be an advantage.

    Responsibilities 

–       Developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets

–       Identifying and contacting potential clients through various channels, such as email, phone, and social media

–       Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing them with suitable solutions

–       Negotiating and closing deals with clients, including the preparation of proposals and contracts

–       Collaborating with the translation team to ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet client’s expectations

–       Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activity to stay ahead of the competition

–       Attending industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the company’s services and build relationships with potential clients

–       Providing regular reports and updates to the management team on sales performance and progress toward targets.

Basic Qualifications 

·      2-3 years in sales and business development or a similar field.

·      Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·      Strong negotiation & relationship-building skills.

·      Self-driven, results-orientated with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit.

Preferred Qualifications 

·       Effective time management and organisation skills.

·       1-2 years of experience in the translation and localisation industry is preferred.

·       Proven track record of achieving goals.
