Automotive Storekeeper
Job Description
<p>The role holder is responsible for assisting the manager in carrying out the operations of stores including stocking, store maintenance, and other related activities in the most economical and appropriate way. The role holder is required to ensure that storage conditions comply with stock manufacturer’s directions and location of all items is accurately recorded and that items issued from store are in pristine condition and readily available for immediate use.</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Receives, checks, correctly identifies and stacks all equipment, materials, spare parts and chemicals in locations.</li><li>Verifies that materials received are in accordance with purchasing orders</li><li>Issues, in accordance with instructions from seniors and against correctly authorized materials issue documents,</li><li>Issues materials on the basis of “first in first out” (FIFO) system in order to rotate stock which may have an expiry date, originates documentation required to accompany issued materials.</li><li>Ensures that issued materials are stocked in the correct dispatch areas.</li><li>Receives returned materials, checks that items are correctly labeled, packed and protected for transit and storage.</li><li>Maintains storage areas in a clean and orderly condition</li><li>Assists workshops in finding products and making selections.</li><li>Facilitates the release of the workshops requirements and ensures physical control of store assets.</li><li>Organizes stock shelves, and display materials.</li><li>Corresponds regularly with Purchase Officers to assure availability of moving parts.</li><li>Performs other related duties as required.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Technical competencies</p><p> </p><ul><li>Basic knowledge of purchasing.</li><li>Knowledge of mechanical items and tools</li><li>Good knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of storing raw materials and spare parts for a vehicle workshop.</li><li>Awareness of general HSE policies and procedures</li><li>Ability to follow Instructions and Procedures</li></ul><p></p>
