RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition is one of the key deployment options for our customers cloud transformation. It provides a comprehensive cloud infrastructure and managed service offerings to our customers as an essential part of the overall Cloud Strategy of SAP. This enables customers to safeguard their existing SAP ERP investment, while benefiting from a new level of flexibility – tailoring the software to meet their specific needs, retaining company-specific configurations and customizations of their SAP ERP system, and accessing the latest capabilities that give their company a competitive advantage. 

Under RISE with SAP, SAP allows customers to run their SAP S/4 HANA and other SAP applications (HANA applications include SAP® Business Suite powered by SAP HANA and SAP NetWeaver® Business Warehouse powered by SAP HANA) in a managed private cloud environment either in SAP’s own datacentres, IaaS Hyperscalers, SAP Premium Suppliers or in customers’ own existing datacentres. SAP has established strategic partnerships with the major cloud infrastructure providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), to offer customers maximum choice for their SAP private cloud deployment. 

The Global RISE Cloud Advisory Team is part of SAP’s Customer Success organization. Within this team we are looking for highly motivated and customer-focused team members to build out a new global Cloud Architecture & Advisory team (CAA) focused on driving scale in our ecosystem for the indirect channel. The Cloud Architect Advisor works predominantly in the pre-sales phase as a subject matter expert, acting as the primary point of contact for all technical topics related to the private cloud deployment from a customer perspective. This new team will work especially closely with Sell Authorized Partners for RISE with SAP to technically support and drive our indirect pipeline for S/4HANA Cloud, private edition. They will be responsible for scaling our enablement, qualification and coaching of Partner Cloud Architects, as well as supporting large, complex, or non-standard indirect deals from a technical perspective. The role will work closely with both Partner and internal SAP teams to indirect customers for success on their cloud journey under RISE with SAP. 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS 

This is a customer and partner facing role where you will support the SAP and Partner sales teams during the entire cycle of a Cloud deal. Following are the key tasks that this role will perform and the core tasks of a Cloud Architect Advisor: 

  1. Work with Partner Ecosystem Success and Enterprise Cloud Services teams to provide ongoing enablement, qualification, coaching, guidance, and support to Partner Cloud Architects in accordance with SAP’s Compliance, Legal and Fair Trade guidelines and indirect private cloud sales process  

  1. Review the technical viability of Partner Cloud Architect performed Technical Assessments, and facilitate/interface between Partner Cloud Architects and SAP internal tools and systems for the Sales2Delivery Process 

  1. Present in detail technical and operational aspects of the RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition offering, including respective managed service offerings (usually to CIO’s, IT managers, data center managers and SAP Technology staff) 

  1. Present the technical requirements and value proposition for SAP private cloud on SAP Data Centres, Premium Suppliers and hyperscalers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).  

  1. Conduct technical assessment workshops with customers to define the future cloud architecture and plan the migration roadmap together with partners, System Integrators, and or SAP Professional Services. 

  1. Guide customers on non-functional capabilities such Business Continuity, Cybersecurity & Compliance, Networking, Technical Operations, and service consumption.  

  1. Work with other teams within the Customer Success board area to generate pricing and provide ongoing deal support to sales teams. 

  1. Own the technical discussions with the customer and act as the orchestrator of experts to obtain expertise from the SAP Enterprise Cloud Services delivery organization as required. 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES 

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, Business Administration required from an accredited university. 

  • High proficiency in customer communications and presentations is required 

  • High proficiency in the SAP product portfolio, offerings and industry solutions.  

  • Good understanding of SAP solutions (releases, platform interdependencies etc.) 

  • Good understanding of operational aspects (Application and Technical) of SAP solutions in a cloud environment.   

  • Good understanding of the entire platform stacks (storage, virtualization, hardware, networks etc.)  

  • Good understanding of technical capabilities of at least one Hyperscaler (AWS; MS Azure or GCP) 

  • Ability and willingness to be part of a global team of Cloud Architects 

  • Willingness to undertake customer related travel on short notice 

  • Fluency in English and Italian, Greek is a plus

WORK EXPERIENCE 

  • Up to 2 years of customer facing SAP Consulting experience. 

  • Up to 2 years of solution design, enterprise architecture and/or SAP implementation.  

  • Experience in a customer facing pre-sales role is an advantage. 

  • Experience with SAP BTP, IaaS Providers (AWS, MS Azure or GCP), SAP Premium Suppliers and/or data centers is a big advantage. 

  • Cybersecurity & Compliance expertise is an advantage 

  • SAP Application Lifecycle Management and or SAP Operations experience is an advantage 

  • ITSM, Service Design & Delivery experience is an advantage 

  • SAP HANA and S/4 HANA skills are an advantage 

Location

SAP is not offering international relocation benefits for this role currently. Only candidates who have legal authorization to Work in Italy and are currently based in Italy will be considered.
