Associate Corporate Counsel
Job Description
<p>The incumbent will be part of the production team and will be responsible for negotiating, drafting and editing corporate and commercial related legal documents. The incumbent will be required to work directly with clients and take instructions from the relevant partners. A successful candidate is expected to discharge his/her duties independently in a professional manner, keeping clients’ interest as a priority.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>conduct legal research on applicable laws, regulation and precedents.</li><li>negotiate all provisions of commercial and corporate related contracts in favor of clients.</li><li>draft and edit contracts and agreements of all types.</li><li>prepare and file different kind of applications to local authorities and regulators.</li><li>communicate with variolous government agencies, financial regulators and free zone authorities.</li><li>coordinate with other law firms and professional service providers, when required.</li><li>conduct due diligence review and prepare relevant reports.</li><li>keep clients updated on regular basis using all forms of acceptable communication.</li><li>prepare and submit summary reports for each project.</li><li>draw and maintain assignments list in accordance with the clients and firm’s project timelines.</li><li>maintain timesheets and report all activities to relevant senior partners.</li><li>take responsibility of own work.</li><li>any other tasks relevant to the above responsibilities.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>must be holder of bachelor degree of law from common law system teaching institution.</li><li>holders of a master degree of law will have a priority.</li><li>must have minimum three (3) years of past relevant experience in the UAE.</li><li>must be native English or must have studied and practiced law fluently in English language for at least five (5) years.</li><li>must be qualified or holder of the requirements to qualify to practice as a legal counsel in Dubai.</li><li>must be able to meet reasonable financial targets as may be set out from time to time.</li><li>must be able to work under pressure and comfortable in putting long hours.</li><li>must have a strong and persuasive character.</li><li>must be able to work in a team.</li><li>must demonstrate key achievements during interview.</li></ul>
