Assistant Teacher

Job Description

• Support the mission, vision and values of the organization;
• Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for the children to learn and grow in;
• Assist the Lead Teacher in required activities in lesson plans that support children’s development, including the daily curriculum and Skillplay program;
• Assist children with daily duties (toileting, feeding, sleeping);
• Monitor children to ensure safety, and help them in developing good personal hygiene habits, as well as handle personal hygiene associated tasks such as toilet training and diaper changing;
• Assisting in outside playground activities;
• Maintain open communication with parents during hand-over by discussing daily routine and informing parents on activities and children’s learning experiences. Always be positive and enthusiastic towards parents;
• Participate in team meetings, communicate and share ideas and with the team members;
• Follow cleaning rota developed by centre director, making sure the designated areas are spotless;
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
