- Assist in planning and implementation of strategies that enhance retail business and in the setting of sales targets / budgets for the retail sales team to help ensure their achievement
- Ensure the profitability of sales, minimizing on customer returns, and promoting appliances
- Organize clearance sales to sell ageing, obsolete and damaged inventory
- Manage the retail department’s expenses within budgeted limits
- Implement Showrooms’ compliance with checklist to ensure that outlets are attractive for customers, reporting on any variance to Retail Manager
- Implement advertising and merchandising programs as developed by the Division’s Marketing department, to increase showroom traffic and sales
- Ensure product rotation in showrooms, and that new and seasonal products are displayed attractively at all times
- Keep up to date on current new markets trends, competitive activities and pricing
- Help educate the sales team on Customer Satisfaction standards and their implementation, ensuring professional customer handling at Showrooms at all times
- Handle customer issues, follow-up and resolve their complaints, to build up satisfaction and loyalty
- Implement processes and procedures which continuously improve performance and enhance customer service, giving feedback to the Retail Manager on improvements
- Implement safety and security procedures in Showrooms that result in a better work environment
- Establish and maintain smooth working relationships with subordinates and superiors
- Identify staff for training and arrange training, knowledge and skill development programmes on a regular basis
- Help develop and motivate underperforming employees with required training
Requirements
- Graduate with 5 – 7 years of experience in retail sales / marketing
- Good management, communication and negotiation skills
- Leadership abilities
