Job Description
We are looking for an Assistant Bakery Chef, who will involve supporting the head chef or lead baker in various aspects of the baking and pastry production process.
Responsibilities:
• Assist the Chef in preparing a wide variety of European baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts.
• Follow recipes and techniques that align with traditional European baking methods to ensure authenticity and quality in the products.
• Help in managing the production schedule to ensure timely preparation and delivery of baked goods.
• Operate and monitor bakery equipment, such as deck ovens, convection ovens, and proofing cabinets, to achieve the desired results.
• Participate in the decoration and presentation of European pastries and desserts, showcasing artistic and traditional techniques.
• Collaborate with the head chef and other team members to innovate and introduce new European-inspired baked goods to the bakery’s menu.
• Maintain a strong emphasis on food safety and hygiene standards to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist in managing ingredient inventory, including ordering and restocking supplies to meet production needs.
• Conduct regular quality checks on finished European baked goods to uphold high standards of taste, texture, and appearance.
• Provide excellent customer service, engaging with customers to answer questions, offer recommendations, and promote bakery products.
• Assist in training and mentoring new bakery staff members, sharing knowledge of European baking techniques and recipes.
• Be willing to adapt to a flexible work schedule, which may include early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Take responsibility for cleanliness and organization in workstations and bakery equipment, maintaining a tidy and efficient workspace.
