Position: Airport Director

Sector: NEOM Air Mobility

Job Location: Sharma, NEOM

Role Purpose:

Ensure that NEOM Airports operate safely, efficiently, and always in compliance to requirements and laws of KSA authorities and oversee the management of each airport department. Hold responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the airport from staffing to scheduling, budgeting and equipment maintenance.

Key Accountabilities & Activities:

  • Act as outward face of Airport developing and maintaining positive relationships between NEOM Airport and its stakeholders (airliners, tenants, control authorities, local media, business partners, KSA Aviation Authorities, etc.) to ensure they are satisfied with all relevant services provided by NEOM Airports
  • Manage airport operations by overseeing other departmental heads who handle various tasks such as maintaining facilities, security screening, and providing customer service to customers
  • Provide daily guidance to NEOM Airport-based operational teams ensuring safe and efficient operations
  • Plan and direct development of airport operating, administrative and support facilities (terminals, runways etc.)
  • Work with stakeholders across departments (including Lead Support Finance) to oversee NEOM Airports overall financial health by managing budgets and anticipating capital expenditures
  • Develop and implement procedures to respond to unforeseen accidents/emergencies that may occur such as plane malfunctions, security breaches, medical emergencies, etc, ensuring damage is mitigated
  • Identify and implement new technologies that can improve efficiency, security, and passenger comfort
  • Ensure compliance with GACA regulations and any other governmental laws that are applicable including environmental laws
  • Ensure compliance of different Integrated Management Systems, such as Safety Management System, Quality Management System, etc. with GACA regulations
  • Conduct public outreach to educate community about airport operations and issues related to air travel.

Background, Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of management experience (preferable in aviation related role)
  • 5+ years of senior management experience (preferable in aviation related role)
  • Effective Financial management skills
  • Evidence of working with and influencing internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent people management skills including coaching, leadership, and development
  • History of dealing sensitively and diplomatically with government authorities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Management (or any related field)
  • MBA or Business -related master’s degree a plus (attending/completed)
  • Additional industry certifications (e.g., IATA) is a plus
  • Able to prioritise workload and meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Fluent in English, Arabic is a plus
