Job Description
<p><span>An accountant’s role is to support the organisation by ensuring that all financial records and reporting are up to standard, updated, and maintained regularly. In some cases, they are responsible for working with third parties, like banks or auditors, to keep business finances on track.</span></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.</li><li>Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.</li><li>Maintains the general ledger.</li><li>Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and closes the monthly books.</li><li>Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.</li><li>Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.</li><li>Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.</li><li>Files required tax forms. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>3-5 years of accounting experience and ERP knowledge</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field</li><li>ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals</li><li>Fluency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)</li><li>ability to work independently</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p>
