Reporting to the Associate Vice President (AVP), Academic, the successful candidate will lead and support high impact experiential learning and contribute towards the development of campus wide AEL, policies, procedures and performance metrics. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to equity diversity and inclusion across AEL related functions.<p><br></p><strong>Duties & Responsibilities: </strong><p><br></p>The successful candidate will support Associate Vice President, Academic in the formulation of UDST’s strategy and lead the development and implementation of AEL’s business plan in alignment with UDST’s strategy.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will develop a professional development training framework and deliver campus-wide initiatives which enhance the delivery of course lessons and the overall student learning experience.<p><br></p>The successful candidate oversee the identification, implementation, delivery and evaluation of faculty professional development opportunities, such as workshops and mentoring on a range of topics.<p><br></p>He/she will oversee the development, delivery and evaluation of high-quality orientation training to ensure new faculty understand UDST’s approach to teaching, learning and pedagogy.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will establish mechanisms for collaboration with colleges to identify areas for professional growth and instructional development.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will manage the development, delivery and evaluation of UDST’s learning management system, including Desire 2 Learn (D2L). He/she will evaluate the potential for implementing new education and teaching technologies, assess cost implications and benefits and manage the development, delivery, and evaluation of UDST’s Keynote Industry Speaker Series.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will manage the issues related to teaching and learning technology and ensure technology integration into curriculum design to promote a consistent approach to employing LMS technologies and other innovative technologies across UDST.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will prepare annual and ad hoc business unit reports to contribute to their plan review and develop and monitor the annual budget of the AEL in conjunction with the AVP, Academic.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will contribute in the policy development initiatives for AEL in conjunction with the AVP, Academic and lead its implementation.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates based on UDST’s Employee Performance Management framework and contribute to the development of workforce plans for the AEL in collaboration with Human Capital, Faculty Affairs and Associate Vice President, Academic.<p><br></p>Other responsibilities include to Contribute to the development of employees through identifying appropriate learning development opportunities in collaboration with AVP, Academic and Human Capital.<p><br></p><strong>Qualifications</strong><p><br></p><strong>Education and Certifications:</strong><p><br></p>Master degree is required (PhD is preferred) awarded from an accredited institution in an appropriate field such as Education or related field<p><br></p><strong>Experience:</strong><p><br></p>Good record of teaching, in vocational or/and technical institution.<p><br></p>Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a high level of professional integrity, accountability, enthusiasm, inclusivity, and a sense of goodwill.<p><br></p>Has at least 8 years of experience in a similar leadership position, at a university or college campus undergoing rapid growth and development.<p><br></p>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with University faculty, students, and staff<p><br></p>Significant experience in building and sustaining highly productive leadership teams, and in inspiring others<p><br></p><strong>Language: </strong><p><br></p>Excellent English’s verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills<p><br></p>Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is preferred.<p><br></p><strong>Other Required Skills:</strong><p><br></p>Highly motivated and innovative individual with an outstanding track record of leadership in a post-secondary institution is required. Demonstrated experience in teaching, in vocational or technical institution is required. Strong leadership skills with a desire to achieve organizational success and to lead by example is required. Effective Strategic Planning is required. Knowledge of Pedagogy, Curriculum Planning and Teaching performance evaluation is required. A proactive can-do attitude to work and good time management is essential. The candidate should have the ability to anticipate change and effectively manage quality and risk at all times. Effective resource management is essential. Commitment to positive relationship building and effective working relationships across all levels of the organization is required. Candidates should demonstrate explanatory communication and interpersonal skills.
