<p><strong>About the Business: </strong></p><p><strong> </strong>Al Wusta Fisheries Industries Company is a subsidiary of Fisheries Development Oman. The company has been established as part of Oman’s desire to further develop the Fisheries sector in the Sultanate towards 2040.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Purpose:</strong></p><p>Lead and manage the People &amp; Culture Department for effective implementation of strategies, policies, processes and procedures to attract, develop, motivate and retain a committed workforce in order to meet and achieve business objectives in the short, medium and long term.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Roles &amp; Responsibilities: </strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Strategic &amp; Functional:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Oversee the implementation of People &amp; Culture policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of the division activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to internal customers.</li><li>Provide guidance for the implementation of the People &amp; Culture policies and procedures and also control, periodical review and maintenance of the policy manual.</li><li>Oversee and ensure that visa and immigration requirements are applied within the stipulated timeframe.</li><li>Be the lead change agent for accurate and effective implementation of the People &amp; Culture processes and practices.</li><li>Review organizational structure changes while ensuring alignment with the group strategy and the requirements of business.</li><li>Analyze the manpower requirements of the business ensuring the immediate and long-term needs are catered for and/or addressed in a timely manner.</li><li>Lead the recruitment process of Al Wusta Fisheries and direct the selection and recruitment of the best candidates to ensure that the best fit is selected in line with the requirement and criteria needed.</li><li>Prepare and submit the monthly required reports to the Group People &amp; Culture team adhering the agreed timeframes and keeping close monitor on the Manpower Cost of the business.</li><li>Review the identified training needs and plans, to improve the business human capital and ensure its implementation consistent with the functional objectives.</li><li>Lead the performance cycle of the business adhering the stipulated timeframes of the cycle that are cascaded by the group.</li><li>Contribute in the employee engagement initiatives and activities at a corporate Level and oversee its uniform implementation.</li><li>Ensure that all activities of the People &amp; Culture Department adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines that are cascaded by the Group (FDO).</li><li>Develop relationship, network with counterparts and other organizations in similar industry to leverage leading practices and learning to improve departmental processes.</li><li>Ensure that all management and regulatory reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.</li><li>Resolve employee issues taking necessary disciplinary action and following-up on labor law queries with the local authorities to minimize interruptions to the business operations.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>People development</u></strong></p><ul><li>Take overall responsibility for people development initiatives and building up in-house capabilities for the employees across the business.</li><li>Drive a performance driven culture in the team by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members.</li><li>Contribute towards development of talent for the department by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Minimum Qualifications:</p><p><br></p><ul><li>University Degree in Business Administration / HR or other relevant fields from recognized local or international business school is preferred.</li><li>MBA is a plus.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Minimum Experience: </strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Minimum of 8 years in a similar post.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Skills:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Business knowledge.</li><li>Coaching/developing others.</li><li>Credibility.</li><li>Critical/analytical thinking.</li><li>Cross-cultural intelligence.</li><li>Effective communication.</li><li>Ethical behavior.</li><li>Integrity.</li><li>Organizational knowledge.</li><li>Persuasiveness/influencing others.</li><li>Results orientation/drive for performance.</li><li>Strategic thinking.</li><li>Flexibility/adaptability.</li></ul>
