DevOps Engineer

Job Description

As a DevOps Engineer at Tamatem Plus, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining new/existing practices, and tools that increase the team’s ability to deliver applications and services. You must ensure that all your deliverables satisfy the technical, product requirements, and quality standards.<p><br></p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure.</li><li>Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.</li><li>Work with software engineers to ensure that development/release follows established processes and works as intended.</li><li>Analyze software problems to invent practical and efficient solutions.</li><li>Deal with source code management activities.</li><li>Create Technical Documentation as necessary.</li><li>Task planning, estimation, and scheduling.</li><li>Staying up to date with the latest DevOps best practices.</li><li>Work with cross-functional teams and comply with engineering team standards.</li><li>Mentor, coach, and share knowledge with DevOps Engineers.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Requirements</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Years Of Experience: 3-4 Years in software development. </li><li>Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields.</li></ul><p><br></p>Skills &amp; Qualifications:<p><br></p><ul><li>Essential background in programming theories.</li><li>Solid understanding of DRY, KISS, and YAGNI software development principles.</li><li>Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and time management.</li><li>Experience with Bash, and/or Shell scripting.</li><li>Experience with Amazon Web Services ( Essentials ).</li><li>Experience with Relational Databases.</li><li>Deep understanding of source code management ( ex: Github, Bitbucket, Gitlab ).</li><li>Ability and willingness to learn using new software tools and adopt new practices.</li><li>Strong and fast competence in planning and estimating tasks.</li><li>Ability to work/support multiple projects at the same time.</li><li>Proactive team player.</li></ul><p><br></p>Other Skills (Plus):<p><br></p><ul><li>Certifications in Amazon Web Services.</li><li>Experience with one of the programming languages like Python, or Ruby.</li><li>Deploying software libraries and artifacts.</li><li>Kubernetes Orchestration, Caching Technologies, and Messaging Queues.</li></ul>
