Job Description
The Assistant Purchasing Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of their department. He will handle a wide range of tasks, from sourcing new vendors and negotiating deals to tracking inventory levels and ensuring that products are delivered on time. Assistant Purchasing Manager may also be responsible for managing employees in their department. This might include assigning tasks to clerks or administrative assistants, providing guidance on how best to complete certain jobs, and even coaching them on how they can advance within the company.<br><br>YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:<br><ul><li>Negotiating with suppliers on pricing, terms, and conditions of sale</li><li>Reviewing bids received from suppliers for potential purchase orders based on price, quality, delivery terms, and other factors</li><li>Managing inventory levels of supplies and materials to ensure adequate supply while minimizing costs</li><li>Monitoring contract compliance and making sure that suppliers adhere to contractual obligations such as maintaining insurance coverage or providing timely delivery of products or services</li><li>Creating purchase orders and other documentation necessary to initiate a purchase transaction</li><li>Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their suitability for specific products or services</li><li>Identifying opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing techniques such as offshore procurement</li><li>Reviewing purchase orders and other documents to ensure that they comply with company policies and procedures</li><li>Recommending changes to purchasing procedures that would improve efficiency or reduce costs<br><br></li></ul>WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU:<br><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree Holder or equivalent and at least two years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred</li><li>Strong organizational, computer, cash handling skills and hotel experience preferred.</li><li>Demonstrate an interest in and an understanding of issues relevant to your department and hotel and keep your knowledge up to date, including legislative information, ability to interact with customer, employees and third parties that reflects on the hotel.</li><li>Problem Solving, Customer focus, Motivating and teamwork.</li><li>Proficient in the use of Microsoft office<br><br></li></ul>WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US:<br><br>We give our people everything they need to succeed.
