<p>Main Job Purpose</p><p><br></p><p>The Procurement Specialist for Food Goods is responsible for managing the procurement of food goods purchase to ensure continuous supply of high-quality food products, at a competitive cost and timely delivery. Identify, evaluate and select potential vendors, negotiate contracts, manage inventory levels, ensure quality control, and actively collaborate with the rest of the team to maintain productivity and quality standards.</p><p><br></p><p><u>Key Accountabilities</u></p><ul><li>Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure continuous supply of food goods in line with organizational objectives.</li><li>Identify, pre-qualify, and evaluate potential vendors to ensure all supply sources meet the organization’s requirements for quality, cost, and timely delivery.</li><li>Manage and maintain supplier relationships to ensure consistent supply of high-quality food products.</li><li>Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of food products.</li><li>Develop and maintain a reliable and secure inventory management system for food products to ensure that inventory levels are always balanced.</li><li>Monitor market trends and price fluctuations to inform decision making and ensure competitiveness.</li><li>Collaborate with other departments to ensure that procurement activities support overall organizational strategies and objectives.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all food safety and quality regulations.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><u>Experience &amp; Skills</u></p><ul><li>2+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally in the food industry management, or a related field.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong relationship management skills with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders.</li><li>Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to drive down costs while maintaining quality standards.</li><li>Knowledge of procurement practices, financial analysis, and inventory management.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.</li><li>Proficient in the use of procurement software and tools.</li></ul>
