As the Head Accountant, you will play a vital role in overseeing the financial operations and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.</p><p>Job Summary:</p><p>We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head Accountant to lead our accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and maintaining compliance with VAT (Value Added Tax) and ZATCA (Zakat and Tax Authority) requirements. This is a senior-level position that requires in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, extensive experience in the maritime industry, and strong leadership skills.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ol><li>Financial Management: Oversee the overall financial operations of the company, including budgeting, financial planning, and cash flow management.</li><li>Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.</li><li>Compliance: Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian taxation regulations, specifically VAT and ZATCA requirements, and stay updated on any changes in regulations.</li><li>Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day activities.</li><li>Audit Management: Coordinate and oversee external audits, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and providing necessary documentation.</li><li>Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement appropriate strategies to mitigate them.</li><li>Process Improvement: Continuously review and enhance accounting procedures and internal controls to optimize efficiency and accuracy.</li><li>Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for improvement.</li><li>Liaison with Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory bodies, to address financial matters.</li></ol><p>Qualifications and Experience:</p><ol><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.</li><li>Professional certifications such as CMA (Certified Management Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), and CPA (Certified Public Accountant) are preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 15 years of relevant accounting experience, with a focus on the maritime industry.</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of VAT and ZATCA requirements, including a thorough understanding of applicable regulations and reporting obligations.</li><li>Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.</li><li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.</li><li>Proven track record of successfully managing audits and working with auditors.</li><li>Proficiency in financial software and systems, including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.</li><li>Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
