Job Description
Position Overview<br>KU is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate/ Research Engineer to work on developing an ultra-high-voltage pulse-power generator based on semiconductor devices. This is an industry-funded project and it is expected that by the end of the project term a working prototype is developed which is novel. The candidate will work with a team of leading academic and industrial experts in this area. He will be mainly responsible for the hardware assembly and testing of the prototype and more importantly in the development of a pulse-power generator lab at Khalifa university which can further develop the local capabilities in this important area.<br><br>As part of the project, the researcher will have access to state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities at the Advanced Power And Energy Center (APEC) and will get an opportunity to work alongside researchers and graduate students from various backgrounds as part of a wider team.<br><br><br><br>Position Requirements<br>路 Experience in design and building high-voltage pulse-power generators<br>路 Hands on experience in design, fabrication and testing of hardware circuit for high frequency high voltage switched power electronic circuits.<br>路 Experience in printed circuit board 鈥揹esign, assembly and testing, operation of digital storage scopes, network analyzers, power quality analyzers and data acquisition equipment.<br>路 Sound knowledge of HV engineering, safety precautions, insulation and grounding requirements, knowledge and standard regulations related to EMI genrated by HV and EHV power sources.<br>路 Experience in programming digital controllers, interfacing with the power circuit and testing.
