<p><strong>General Overview:</strong></p><p>The Executive Director of Nursing/Midwifery (EDONM) is accountable for ensuring the quality and safety of the nursing & midwifery service and working alongside a strong inter professional leadership team to provide a quality patient service.</p><p><br></p><p>The EDONM is required to establish structures and frameworks to ensure the creation and maintenance of environments that develop and support professional nursing & midwifery practice.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Tasks and Responsibilities: </strong></p><p>1. Ensures the provision of skilled safe, holistic, and culturally competent, person-centered nursing and Midwifery care to patients, families, community and society, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team irrespective of healthcare settings.</p><p>2. Provides guidance for and supervision of personnel accountable to the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery.</p><p>3. Leads nursing and midwifery and organizational policy formulation and decision-making.</p><p>4. Leads and contributes to service, business and budget planning.</p><p>6. Coordinates nursing and midwifery services with the services of other health care disciplines in particular the hospitals leadership team.</p><p>7. Ensures that all stakeholders are engaged and advocates for nurses and midwives to be integral to all service improvements and clinical decision making.</p><p>8. Assumes responsibility for staffing and scheduling personnel across the facility service. Assignments reflect appropriate utilization of personnel.</p><p>9. Fosters a climate conducive to education experiences for nurses, midwives and students.</p><p>10. Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care using validated and reliable methodologies.</p><p>11. Accepts organizational accountability for services provided to recipients.</p><p>12. Accepts accountability for own actions and decision-making and for the related outcome.</p><p>13. Functions at all times in accordance with legislative, regulatory and policy guidelines relevant to registered nursing & midwifery practice.</p><p>15. Ensures clinical competence in all aspects of care provided to patients and families.</p><p>16. Attends to emergency / crisis situations calmly and effectively role models behaviors and skills for the nursing & midwifery team.</p><p>17. Provides input to the patients plan of care by ensuring the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of the care plan.</p><p>18. Uses communication skills to ensure that other members of the health care team, the patient and their family are and remain fully informed.</p><p>19. Exhibits leadership qualities and manages nursing& or midwifery care safely, efficiently and ethically.</p><p>20. Ensures nursing & midwifery practice meets organizational quality and safety standards and guidelines, and participates in continuous quality improvement.</p><p>21. Maintains and promotes customer satisfaction through effective customer service.</p><p>22. Delegates and provides supervision to team members according to their competence and scope of practice.</p><p>23. Demonstrates commitment to the development of other members in the healthcare team, as well as patients, families, community and society.</p><p>24. Assumes responsibility for own professional development through lifelong learning to ensure continued competence and performance improvement.</p><p>25. Enables and provides information on maintaining and optimizing health and maximizing self-care.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong>:</p><p>1) Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Midwifery</p><p>2) Masterβs degree in Healthcare related field.</p><p>3) A minimum of 15 years post registration experience</p><p>4) A minimum of 8 years of experiences in a managerial role</p><p> </p>
