Our faculty are committed to delivering pedagogically-sound learning experiences with incorporation of innovative technological interventions, to further enhance students’ skills and help develop talented graduates that can effectively contribute to a knowledge-based economy and make Qatar’s National Vision 2030 a reality.<p><br></p>The Student Central Services Department invites applications for the position of Career Services Specialist.<p><br></p><strong>Your Commitment</strong><p><br></p>Reporting to the Head, Career Services, the successful candidate will support the career services function of the University, by coordinating and implementing career-related interventions as required.<p><br></p><strong>Duties & Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p><strong>Operational</strong><p><br></p>The successful candidate will support in the execution of comprehensive career services programs and initiatives, that meet the needs of the student population. Simultaneously, document and record policies that govern career services operations; including but not limited to career coaching and supports, student employment, external employer relations and career fair organization.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will provide career advising, coaching and support to students; guide them on resume and cover letter reviews, job search strategy coaching and interview preparation. As well as, support in the organization of the annual career fair of the University, other career events, workshops and programs for students.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will support the student employment processes, by ensuring all stages are successfully executed and deliverables are met. At the same time, support and assist students in securing and completing work term placements.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will support in conducting career assessments for students using career tools and techniques, to determine their suitability for potential career paths. Also, develop career-related resources, such as career guides, tip sheets, and online tools, that students can use to further their career goals.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will maintain a database of employers, with key contact information. The incumbent will assist students with identifying potential career opportunities and ensure that all documentation pertaining to the career services function of the University are updated and accurately documented.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will assist in collecting and analyzing data on career services programs and initiatives that will support data-driven decision making on career program development and improvement. Similarly, support the career services team in outreach and communication efforts to promote career services programs and resources to the campus community.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will assist in managing the career services marketing, social media and web presence. In the same way, provide general administrative support to the career services team, such as scheduling appointments, responding to email inquiries, and maintaining program resources and materials.<p><br></p>The successful candidate will keep abreast with best practices in career services, industry trends, job market outlooks and employer needs; and inform career advising and career program development.
