Job Description

• Serve as a campus expert on student related matters regarding accommodations, equal access, and disability.<br>• Provide ongoing services and programs which advance the educational mission of the University and Student Services including support with recommending, and implementing policies and procedures that highlight disability as a form of diversity.<br>• Meet with students to determine and facilitate necessary services or reasonable accommodations.<br>• Develop and disseminate educational/informational materials and presentations for faculty, staff, and students on the university campus to promote accessibility services and the shared responsibility to appropriately accommodate students.<br>• Participate in the development of goals and objectives for Student Accessibility Services and provide modification plans to Student Development as part of the institutional planning process.<br>• Coordinate department programs to support students.<br>• Prepare various reports and analysis-denoting progress, adverse trends, and makes appropriate recommendations.<br>• Ensure students with disabilities have full access to educational and other opportunities on campus.<br>• Review student reports and determine if the academic accommodation request is justified based on impact of a disability or skills-based weakness.<br>• Coordinate and monitor department efforts and programs, including but not limited to testing, assessment, and student programming, to support students with disabilities.<br>• Prepare various reports and analysis denoting progress, adverse trends, and makes appropriate recommendations.<br>• Provide support to student support programs on campus i.e. Counseling or Academic Success Coaches to address retention issues.<br>• Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success as well as working with broadly diverse communities.<br>• Maintain knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility.<br>• Adhere to the University’s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly.<br>• Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed.<br>• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.
