Our hybrid model combines a mix of in-person and remote working.<p><br></p><strong><u>What You’ll Do</u></strong><p><br></p>Reporting to the EMEA Head of People Business Partnering, the People Business Partner (PBP) and Strategic Staffing Manager for Dubai acts as a trusted and integral part of the Middle East leadership team. The role is also responsible for contributing to EMEA and global projects.<p><br></p>The PBP role involves collaborating with the leadership team to shape the local people strategy. The role works within a global matrix structure ensuring balance between the global, local market and wider team demands. An integrated approach to the following people activities is essential to embed a culture and working practices that support our strategy – performance management, talent management, career development, succession planning, training, coaching and mentoring, headcount planning, engagement, reward and diversity & inclusion.<p><br></p>This role will also manage all local Strategic Staffing responsibilities balancing client demands with consultants’ individual development needs. You will be part of an experienced EMEA Strategic Staffing team and report to the Head of EMEA Strategic Staffing on all Dubai staffing related issues and trends.<p><br></p>Overall, the role-holder will need to be a committed and team orientated individual, who combines high emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills. They will thrive in a reactive fast-paced environment, be comfortable managing conflicting priorities and have the gravitas to influence a team of challenging senior stakeholders.<p><br></p><strong><u>Overview Of PBP Responsibilities</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>First contact point for client services colleagues regarding talent management and development. Sought out as a subject matter expert by senior leadership.</li><li>Partner with the Partner & Managing Directors (PMDs) to plan and execute the people strategy in support of the local market strategy and the firm’s overarching strategy.</li><li>Introduce, lead and influence change initiatives and embed a continuous improvement approach within both the local markets and the PBP team.</li><li>Accountability for improving retention: cultivate and implement strategies to attract, retain and motivate talented and engaged employees.</li><li>Accountability for improving diversity targets within the country and for leading EMEA and/or global D&I initiatives.</li><li>Act as a trusted advisor to leaders including coaching them on their people leadership skills and be their first line support for advice and counsel on all people related matters.</li><li>Act as the conscience of the business to ensure they are aligned to the strategy and act as the ‘gatekeeper’ on all important people related decisions.</li><li>Managing the local performance management process, including regular employee evaluations, promotion management, embedding a continuous feedback culture and corrective action plans as necessary.</li><li>Ensure reward decisions integrate with the performance management process to drive high performance and work closely with the global team to review the firm wide compensation benchmarking information ensuring our approach remains competitive.</li><li>Lead EMEA-wide PBP projects</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Overview Of Staffing Responsibilities</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Work closely with PMDs, Partners and Directors to understand the resourcing needs of each project and continually evaluate the progress of projects to adjust resourcing levels accordingly.</li><li>Deal with staffing issues as they arise on projects by proposing creative solutions to PMDs, Partners and Directors, be prepared to question and challenge as appropriate.</li><li>Understand the skills / abilities of client-facing staff, ensure people with the appropriate skills and experience are deployed on the right projects, balancing both the business needs with those of the individual. Carry out regular quarterly 30 mins staffing catch ups with every consultant in the relevant practice from C – D levels.</li><li>Identify and propose solutions to resolve longer term patterns of over and underutilisation via tracking, maintaining, and reporting on operational effectiveness and utilisation.</li><li>Participate in mid-year and year-end performance review sessions to input case specific feedback and capture any feedback to help inform future resourcing decisions.</li><li>Ensure the forecasting and scheduling tool (Saviom) appropriately reflects people’s forecast utilisation and that this is updated daily.</li><li>Deliver weekly MI reporting and analysis promoting the Global Demand and Capacity Daily Dashboard (GCD Daily), the main reporting tool developed by the Strategic Staffing team. Thus ensure the integrity of EMEA streamlined staffing reporting formats and avoid creating bespoke Excel reporting requests.</li><li>Promote the use of DBP (Development Based Projects) for new joiners and consultants who would like to upskill further and actively drive and promote the use of EOP (Engagement Onboarding Protocols).</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Internal Stakeholders</u></strong><p><br></p>You will be the people interface with the business and will work with various stakeholders including:<p><br></p><ul><li>with PMDs and Finance to assess headcount plans using effective succession planning;</li><li>with the Talent Acquisition team to develop and support effective hiring strategies;</li><li>with the People Operations team to proactively identify potential issues, manage performance, underperformance, flexible working etc;</li><li>with the Learning and Development team to identify training needs and deliver appropriate solutions by working with internal resources and external vendors.</li></ul><p><br></p>This description is not designed to encompass a comprehensive listing of required activities, duties or responsibilities.<p><br></p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong><p><br></p><strong>What you’ll need </strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Ideally bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience of 6 years professional experience (for example as HR manager, HR business partner level) preferably within a professional services firm.</li><li>Proven track record of adding value and taking a strategic and commercial approach.</li><li>Solid experience of performance management, talent management and coaching.</li><li>Knowledge or experience with organisational development and change management.</li><li>Business focused mindset.</li><li>English fluency is a necessity.</li><li>Previous staffing / resourcing / scheduling experience would be of advantage.</li></ul><p><br></p><u>Personal competences</u><p><br></p><ul><li>Credibility and influencing ability of senior stakeholders (executive level).</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly establish credibility and respect.</li><li>Focused on adding value, acts on what is best for the company.</li><li>Team player with the ability to work independently and be accountable for results.</li><li>Strong team leadership and coaching skills.</li><li>Able to exercise independent judgement and identify new opportunities.</li><li>Suggests alternative solutions for problems and takes quick decisions, when required.</li><li>Demonstrates strong attention to detail.</li><li>High ethical, moral, and professional standards, manages highly confidential information with unquestionable integrity.</li><li>Can manage and prioritize a busy and varied workload, often to demanding deadlines.</li><li>Must become familiar with, and promote and abide by, our Core Values as defined by the AlixPartners’ Code of Conduct and foster an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization.</li></ul><p><br></p>In addition to a positive workplace, the firm offers a comprehensive compensation package including an excellent benefits program.<p><br></p>AlixPartners is an equal opportunity employer.
