<strong>Location: UK<br><br></strong><strong><u>Background<br><br></u></strong>This position sits within the Security Operations Team, part of the IT Security & Enterprise Architecture function. Security Operations is a newly created team to support the products and services provided by the Security function.<br><br>This team is designed to be an operational team, bridging the gap between Service Delivery and Security Services.<br><br><strong><u>Purpose Of The Role<br><br></u></strong>The Security Operations Engineer position is a hands-on role providing a broad range of support services across the Security product set. Working within the Team, you will provide support through proactive monitoring of our services, resolving incidents assigned to our queues, implementing customer requests, delivering on projects tasks, threat hunting and investigations, cloud management and system configuration.<br><br>This role would suit an individual who is looking to gain experience within a Security support environment. We are looking for someone who is keen on troubleshooting and problem solving. The successful candidate will be dynamic, analytical and be able to come up with smart solutions.<br><br><strong><u>Key Deliverables/Responsibilities<br></u></strong><ul><li>Responding to alerts and incidents, including root cause analysis for a “Fix Once” approach.</li><li>Management and completion of catalogue requests and project tasks assigned to the team.</li><li>Monitoring and reacting to alerts/security events from the monitoring systems.</li><li>Working to ensure security in our managed IT Services.</li><li>Active Directory, Azure and Privilege Access Management administration and troubleshooting.</li><li>Policy management, filtering and targeting policies.</li><li>Azure Administration, Azure Admin Content Investigations, MFA Troubleshooting.</li><li>Security and account investigations, routing out the true root causes.</li><li>Creating and administering Single Sign On (SSO) trusts between in house and 3rd party systems.</li><li>Supporting and administrating key systems e.g. Varonis and Zscaler (ZIA and ZPA).</li><li>Awareness of Anti-malware / Antivirus -> MS Defender suite, McAfee etc.</li><li>Investigation and troubleshooting of issues relating to firewalls, account administration, tokens.</li><li>Collaborate with the Security towers, and other IT functions, for problem resolution.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Essential<br><br></u></strong><strong>Experience Required:<br></strong><ul><li>Proactive work attitude, ability to work independently while still acting as part of a team.</li><li>Problem solving, a desire to maintain a “Fix Once” approach.</li><li>Experience with designing and writing troubleshooting guides (Knowledge base articles) for support teams.</li><li>Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.</li><li>Great communicator, ability to convey technical information in a non-technical way.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Desirable<br></u></strong><ul><li>Scripting and automating administration based tasks.</li><li>Knowledge of monitoring & reporting based systems, ideally SCOM.</li><li>Server build processes, both Physical and Virtual.</li><li>Managing, supporting and monitoring a Microsoft Server Platform.</li><li>Networking fundamentals and troubleshooting.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Behavioural Competencies<br></u></strong><ul><li>Strong customer services orientation.</li><li>Proven experience of delivering process efficiencies and improvements.</li><li>Clear and fluent English (both verbal and written).</li><li>Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships with remote teams.</li><li>Demonstrate ability to take ownership of and accountability for relevant products and services.</li><li>Ability to plan, prioritise and complete your own work, whilst remaining a team player.</li><li>Willingness to engage with and work in other technologies.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Meeting Your Needs<br><br></u></strong>When you start with us, you’ll enjoy <strong><em>”Total Reward”</em></strong>, a package that can be tailored to your lifestyle, career and personal needs.
