Job Description
<p>The ideal candidate should be responsible for the facilitation, training and development of multi-functional Operational training activities, as defined by the business objectives. By collation and analysis of competence assessment and OEM support and information, the post holder will assist the KSA operational teams in identifying training needs, developing training documentation and delivering a range of training and on-going coaching and facilitation activities both individually and alongside equipment manufacturers or external training providers. In addition, the post holder will support operational teams to identify opportunities to improve performance against KPI targets, waste reduction projects, cost/benefit analysis, etc. through problem-solving and a range of CI tools and techniques.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Main Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li> Ensuring that all employees are adequately trained to defined and detailed Operating procedures covering all aspects of their jobs</li><li> Overseeing the development of induction and training programs for new hires</li><li> Coordinating the purchase of training materials and new equipment for the Bakery Excellence Academy covering all training purposes, as well as updating existing equipment and materials as needed</li><li> Coordinating competence assessment programmes to identify gaps against specified standards, covering all cross functional key roles</li><li> Establishing standards for employee competence, flexibility and performance and evaluating employee performance regularly to ensure that standards are met</li><li> Conducting a variety of training and coaching sessions on topics covering the whole operations spectrum such as safety, Quality, Costs, Customer Service, Line effectiveness and efficiency, and continuous improvement tools and techniques.</li><li> Recommending changes to training programs based on feedback from employees and managers who have completed the programs</li><li> On-going reviewing of employee performance to determine whether objectives have been met and providing feedback to employees regarding areas that need improvement.</li><li> Facilitating multi-functional improvement teams in Continuous improvement activity based around the lean tools of 5S, SMED, VSM, Visual management, problem solving;</li><li> Educate and mentor staff on the effective application of Personal Development Programmes</li><li> To work in conjunction with the Supply Chain, operational and Technical teams to deliver effective training and development programs</li><li>To constantly challenge the norm, and be an enthusiastic developer of new ideas, leading to quantifiable savings.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Requirements:</p><p><u>Essential: </u></p><ul><li> Degree or equivalent level qualification in relevant discipline; e.g. mechanical / production/quality engineering, but not necessary if sufficient experience</li></ul><p><u>Desirable:</u> </p><ul><li>A level or above in maths, statistics, physics, other science</li><li>CI certification or 6 Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt</li><li>Experience in manufacturing/production environment in a training/ coaching /facilitation and continuous improvement roleβ</li><li>Proven training, coaching and facilitation specialist with good people management and communication skills to lead and facilitate;</li><li> Desirable: Demonstrable experience in managing and implementing CI projects; e.g. lean, kaizen, 5S, VSM, SMED, TPM projects in an ISO manufacturing environment;</li><li>Experience of leading improvement groups to create quantifiable savings;</li><li> A positive, flexible, practical and innovative approach to problem-solving.</li><li> Lots of energy, a sense of urgency and direction and an ability to inspire at all levels.</li><li> Effective communicator with all levels of staff and management team;</li><li> Experience with a performance-based data system, data capture and methodology for trend analysis and creating reports;</li><li> Self-reliant and resourceful, able to work under pressure, to multi-task, facilitate and coordinate teams and resources;</li><li> Highly numerate;</li><li>Highly computer literate (MS Excel, database software, presentation software).</li></ul>
