<strong>Overview / Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p>Wood is currently recruiting for Civil Inspectors with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. Candidates must be able to work on daily basis; we are only considering applications from local Iraqi nationals preferably residing in Iraq, Basra.<p><br><br></p><ul><li> Monitor activities that will assure that the work is performed as required by the contract and meets or exceeds the required qualities </li><li> Conduct regular surveillance of site work against documented processes </li><li> Conduct review of work pack documentation and validate test data as meeting specified requirements and/or within tolerance </li><li> Provide guidance on civil quality requirements to promote self-assessment of activities and reduce reliance on inspection personnel to identify potential concerns </li><li> Ensuring incorporated materials on projects are following the plans and specifications </li><li> Attend as the Company nominated representative for Civil discipline witness and monitor intervention points on Site Construction ITPs </li><li> Produce formal reports of inspection carried out on the site </li><li> Liaise with client and contractor quality personnel to ensure requirements for client representation at hold, witness and test points are understood </li><li> Provide quality representation at toolbox talks and promote right first-time approach <br></li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Skills / Qualifications</strong><p><br><br></p><ul><li> Civil inspectors shall be suitably experienced with a trade or higher qualification in a related discipline with technical qualification and recognition as an inspector through organisations such as the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Quality Inspector (CQI).The inspector will need to be conversant in relevant civil standards and have the ability to prepare concise, legible reports of activities conducted. </li><li> Good experience in civil inspection roles; with oil &amp; gas involvement forming part or all of this experience </li><li> Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred </li><li> Good experience of site-based project work involving field engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, or maintenance preferred </li><li> Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred </li><li> Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage </li><li> Good communicator with a willingness to share knowledge and support others </li><li> Strong team working ethic, positive and enthusiastic </li><li> Proactive </li><li> An active listener with the ability to focus on customer requirements </li><li> Highly motivated and self-reliant </li><li> Confident and assertive </li><li> Problem solver </li><li> Open thinker and innovator </li><li> Flexible and adaptable </li><li> Fluent in both spoken and written English language. <br></li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Company Overview</strong><p><br></p>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
