<strong>Summary</strong><p><br></p>NEOM Energy Sector is looking for candidates with international experience to fill the vacancy of Underground Cable and Culverts Routing Engineer. The person will have experience of route proving for transmission level underground cable projects, understanding surveying techniques and assisting in developing the preferred routing of underground transmission circuits throughout the region.<p><br></p><strong>Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p><strong> Cable Route Development </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Develop and prove feasible cable routes for all required circuits, ensuring multiple options are presented and assessed for performance and capital/operational efficiency. </li><li> Working within and understanding of many different and diverse terrains, including desert, rocky, mountainous, and hilly areas. </li><li> Securing required permits for underground routing and coordinating these with associated stakeholders. </li><li> Experience of containment options for cables and culverts configurations. Understanding the benefits and disadvantages of different methods of containment. Use of GIS Software to analyze and present route corridors and constraints. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong> Cable System Design and Installation </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Complete preliminary cable system and installation designs to ensure feasibility and to enable robust budgeting of project costs. </li><li> Carry out reviews of contractor designs, to ensure they are fit for purpose and compliant with NEOM and/or national specifications. </li><li> Carry out site audits, ensuring quality and timely completion of projects in collaboration with the relevant Project Managers. </li><li> Develop relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure innovative and efficient delivery of project requirements. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong> Project Management </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Responsibility for ensuring design and development work is delivered within the required programme constraints. </li><li> Ability to work with surveyors, civil and electrical engineers, to resolve complicated engineering tasks. </li><li> Liaison with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with their standards and requirements. </li><li> Management of contracts for consultancy work and supplementary resource, ensuring value is delivered </li><li> Assist with tendering and procurement requirements, including writing of Scope and Specification documents. </li><li> Review of the potential innovation and value engineering solutions to ensure best value for NEOM. </li><li> Other work as deemed necessary to achieve a successful outcome for NEOM. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Background, Skills</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Track record in project development and delivery </li><li> Proven ability in the role of cable routing planning and proving </li><li> Experience in EHV and HV AC cable design and installation </li><li> Experience of modelling software for HV cable design, including cable rating, cable pulling and thermomechanical design. </li><li> Experience of cable tunnel/culvert design including ventilation requirements/constraints and associated M&E systems. </li><li> Ability to work on own initiative, communicate well and resolve problems </li><li> Resilient, able to work under pressure and to demanding timescales </li><li> Team player </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Qualifications</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar </li><li> A bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering will be considered if applicant has significant EHV and AC cable experience. </li><li> A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience </li><li> Full driving license for conversion into a Saudi Arabian driving license</li></ul>
