<strong>Summary</strong><p><br></p>NEOM Energy is seeking to fill an exciting new position for starting up an Asset Operations and Maintenance Team for the electricity transmission sector. NEOM Energy currently constructs transmission assets worth north of 4bn USD and first assets will come online early 2024 to serve early demands within the NEOM region which shall be based on 100% RES by 2030 or earlier. It is of paramount importance that the transmission assets are operated at the highest possible level of security to the local population.<p><br></p>In the role the individual will be owning the definition, implementation and refinement of asset operation and maintenance strategies, concepts and tools. Based on thought-through make-or-buy decisions the position holder will steadily ramp up the needed internal capabilities while assuring permanent operational readiness through the help of situationally contracted external resources.<p><br></p><strong>Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p><strong> Role Strategy Definition </strong><ul><li> Lead in the area of asset operations and maintenance for an electricity transmission grid. </li><li> Specification and documentation of the processes to operate an AC/DC hybrid asset portfolio in a secure and reliable manner from scratch e.g.</li><ul><li> monitoring of grid assets in real time or off-line mode </li><li> preventive and curative asset maintenance in line with OEM specifications </li><li> HSE and site intervention rules and regulations </li><li> Opex optimized maintenance and servicing of assets </li></ul><li> Build-up of a workforce backed by external partners to service and maintain a state-of-the art transmission system </li><li> Alignment with relevant stakeholder on existing and upcoming contextual regulations to be respected </li><li> Reporting of Maintenance and Service related KPIs to the Senior Management. </li><li> Management and Operation of strategic spare parts management and stock of temporary grid assets </li><li> Define an innovation pipeline to define the maintenance system of the future (robotics, drones, Ai) and implement first projects to move in that direction following a prioritization alignment. </li><li> Bring in innovation and new ideas for the operation of a control center to operate a highly loaded transmission grid, considering the renewable energy system and smart systems of demand side response </li></ul><p><br></p><strong> Interfacing with stakeholders </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Develop formal relationships with relevant stakeholders including NEOM Security, Telecoms, Cyber, Data and IT divisions, NEOM authority, Saudi Electricity Company/ National Grid, etc. </li><li> Liaise with NEOM energy colleagues, including water and distribution division to understand best practice and options knowledge sharing. </li><li> Organize regular exchanges as needed. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Background, Skills</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> In-depth, multi-year experience in asset operations, asset maintenance and asset servicing </li><li> Beneficial to have experience on electricity transmission system operations </li><li> Minimum 10 years experience in leading teams ≥50 Technicians </li><li> First experience with innovation in maintenance concepts around AI, robotics, etc. </li><li> Exercises substantial personal responsibility and autonomy. </li><li> Plans own work to meet given objectives and processes. </li><li> Influences organization, customers, suppliers, partners and peers on the contribution of own specialism. </li><li> Builds appropriate and effective business relationships. </li><li> Makes decisions which impact the success of teams i.e. results, deadlines. </li><li> Has significant influence over the allocation and management of resources appropriate to given assignments. </li><li> Advises on the available standards, methods, tools and applications relevant to own specialism and can make appropriate choices from alternatives. </li><li> Analyses, designs, plans, executes and evaluates work to time, cost and quality targets. </li><li> Assesses and evaluates risk. </li><li> Communicates effectively, both formally and informally. </li><li> Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives. </li><li> Develops an understanding of the relevance of own area of responsibility/specialism to the NEOM organization. </li><li> Well-developed knowledge across the Microsoft suite, accustomed to measuring, reporting and presenting information. </li><li> Takes initiative to keep skills up to date. </li><li> Mentors colleagues. </li><li> Maintains an awareness of developments in the industry. </li><li> Outstanding English language skills, both orally and in writing, Arabic would be an advantage </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Qualifications</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Bachelor’s Degree holder in Electrical Engineering or comparable qualification </li><li> Ideally: formal qualification in Asset Management</li></ul>
