<strong>Overview</strong><p><br></p><strong> Position </strong><p><br></p><strong> Corrections Director </strong><p><br></p><strong> Job Code </strong><p><br></p><strong> Reports to </strong><p><br></p><strong> Security and Protection Executive </strong><strong> Director </strong><p><br></p><strong> Direct Reports </strong><p><br></p><strong> Division/Section </strong><p><br></p>Corrections<p><br></p><strong> Department </strong><p><br></p>Corrections<p><br></p><strong> Sector </strong><p><br></p>Security and Protection<p><br></p><strong> Job Family </strong><p><br></p><strong> Role Purpose </strong><p><br></p>Assist the Security and Protection Executive Director in designing and implementing the Corrections function and relevant capabilities in accordance to the NEOM Founding Law and relevant Regulations.<p><br></p>In long term, strive for fulfilling the Corrections mandate to “Contribute to NEOM public safety and security by implementing NEOM court sentences and actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable safe, secure, and humane control”<p><br></p><strong>Key Accountabilities &amp; Activities</strong><p><br></p><strong> Duties and responsibilities </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Envision the process and needed changes for successive transition to processes, activities and environment that promotes improved quality of life and opportunities to reduce re-offending </li><li> Develop scheme for provisioning of services by own employees, Base Economy specialist, contractor entities, and other 3rd parties </li><li> Develop and maintain relationships with Base Economy relevant ministries (MoI, MoJ, etc.) and other relevant parties (Red Crescent, United Nations, etc.) for ensuring safe, secure and humane control over inmates </li><li> Develop strategy for risk management based on inmate profiling, related policies and risk mitigation strategy </li><li> Envision, develop, and promote risk-aware mindset for all capability and strategy development </li><li> Develop capabilities to establish, maintain and administer detention and corrections facilities </li><li> Design the process of introducing the Board of Parole and supervise the development of rules for administering parole services </li><li> Design capabilities for development, introducing, and administering probation services and post-release supervision services </li><li> Develop strategy for introduction of rehabilitation services </li><li> Establish standards for the operations and supervise their implementation </li><li> Regularly benchmark the corrections capabilities against international best-practice and role model institutions and assist all NEOM departments as a Subject Matter Expert in relation to corrections, parole and rehabilitation topics </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Background, Skills &amp; Qualifications</strong><p><br></p><strong> Knowledge, Skills and Experience </strong><p><br></p><ul><li> 10+ years of senior operational experience in prisons with career of progressively more responsible correctional management experience, preferably in the public sector </li><li> Technical knowledge of relevant prison legislation, standards, inspection and audit processes; and knowledge of the wider criminal justice system </li><li> Proven leadership skills, including the development, communication, and delivery of vision </li><li> Strategic thinking, understanding policy and legal context, to make meaningful decisions in complex and challenging situations </li><li> Proven ability to develop mature, productive, and meaningful relationships with internal and external service providers, key stakeholders and partners </li><li> Effective communicator, including the proven ability to negotiate and influence at a strategic level </li><li> Ability to exercise sound judgement in pressured environment </li><li> Excellent communication and interpersonal skills </li><li> Strong organizational and planning skills </li><li> Outstanding analytical abilities </li><li> Project management skills </li><li> Strong leadership skills </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Qualifications</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Master’s degree in Corrections, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice or a related field </li><li> Knowledge of English language at a native or fluent proficiency </li><li> Knowledge of Arabic language is a plus </li></ul><p><br></p><strong> COMMUNICATION – MAIN STAKEHOLDERS </strong><p><br></p><strong> Internal </strong><p><br></p><strong> External </strong><p><br></p>Director of Security &amp; Protection<p><br></p>Other senior managers and directors within Security &amp; Protection<p><br></p>Other managers and/or counterparts in NEOM Sectors<p><br></p>Suppliers, vendors<p><br></p>Relevant academic and research &amp; development institutions<p><br></p>Regulators / Government (relevant BE components)
