Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer plans, directs, and coordinate manufacturing processes in industrial plant.<p><br></p><ul><li> Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.</li><li> Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.</li><li> Works with production and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.</li><li> Works with production and suppliers to determine equipment specifications and justifies equipment needs and capital expenditures.</li><li> Evaluates products and processes according to specifications and quality standards.</li><li> Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decision.</li><li> Attend meetings, as assigned, and as appropriate to evaluate ECN’s and to discuss and evaluate issues which affect production.</li><li> Design assembly, test, and calibration fixtures with input from engineering, as required.</li><li> Order and coordinate Manufacturing Pilot Runs, as required, on review of ECNs on new or modified products.</li><li> Prepare cost build-ups and estimates as required for product development, specials, and input to purchasing for make/buy decisions.</li></ul><p><br></p>Requirements:<p><br></p><ul><li> Review SPI’s and job descriptions related to the department and provide input on keeping them current.</li><li> Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.</li><li> Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.</li><li> Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.</li><li> Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.</li><li> Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.).</li><li> 3-5 years related experience.</li></ul><p><br></p>AMETEK is committed to making a safer, sustainable, and more productive world a reality.
