<p><strong>Objective: </strong></p><p><span>To manage the overall risk management framework across the entire company. </span></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Areas:</strong></p><ul><li><span>Risk Management;</span></li><li><span>Corporate Governance;</span></li><li><span>Qualitative and quantitative assessment of risk;</span></li><li><span>Investment management.</span></li><li><span>Internal Control Framework</span></li></ul><p> <strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Key Tasks:</strong></p><ul><li><span>Prepare a strategic plan for the Risk Management function. The plan should clearly set out a proposed department structure, required resources and tools required to deliver on the set plan.</span></li><li><span>Develop and manage the COSO Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework by establishing necessary risk management programme, risk appetite, terminologies, policies, standards, practices and effectively implement them across the whole organization;</span></li><li><span>Understand the current business processes and procedures adopted by the two investment departments (Public Markets and Private Markets) and propose a risk-based investment process detailing when risk process should be included in the investment process.</span></li><li><span>Develop and manage the enterprise Risk Register to identify potential risks the business may be exposed to and implement necessary risk monitoring and mitigation processes and procedures.</span></li><li><span>Continuously evaluate Tanmia’s ERM framework and procedures to ensure that professional standards and performance targets are met in accordance with Tanmia’s risk management policy; </span></li><li><span>Conducts reviews of investment and operations management procedures, systems, services, and documentation to ensure that risk exposures are identified, understood and controlled and/or minimised;</span></li><li><span>Provide advice on risks for new financial products that the organisation is about to launch;</span></li><li><span>Work closely with the investment teams to ensure that the risks throughout the investment life cycle is assessed and regularly monitored;</span></li><li><span>Report back to senior management on effectiveness of the control environment/systems and make recommendations on improving controls;</span></li><li><span>Review risks’ programs to ensure that potential weaknesses and losses are identified and associated risks brought to the attention of Tanmia’s Board of Directors;</span></li><li><span>Compile and submit regular risk reporting to the Executive Management and the Board of Tanmia. The reporting should cover risks identified in the business units as well as all operational risks. The report should provide both qualitative and quantitative measures of risks. Advise the Executive Management on the frequency and distribution list of the reports;</span></li><li><span>Maintain strong and effective working relationships with all focal points across departments responsible for parts of ERM framework;</span></li><li><span>Assist Tanmia’s Executive Management team in the development of the strategic direction of Tanmia’s Risk Management function;</span></li><li><span>Provide advice and guidance to the department managers and other managers in matters relating to risk management; </span></li><li><span>Support staff to build risk awareness within the organization; this should be achieved by running an awareness programme to all staff within Tanmia.</span></li><li><span>Carry out other related duties and responsibilities as required by the Board of Directors.</span></li></ul><p> <strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong>Technical and Soft Skills:</strong></p><ul><li><span>Strong understanding of various qualitative and quantitative measure used to evaluate risk especially within the investment area.</span></li><li><span>Has a good understanding of how an investment entity operates and the investment standards normally adopted.</span></li><li><span>Strong analytical skills.</span></li><li><span>Ability to pay attention to details.</span></li><li><span>Ability to forecast future market trends, evaluate and analyze investment opportunities is required.</span></li><li><span>Ability to assess risk and provide practical solutions to mitigate risks.</span></li><li><span>Excellent presentation skills.</span></li><li><span>Proficiency with MS Office applications.</span></li></ul><p> <strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Work Experience / Knowledge:</strong></p><ul><li><span>Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, finance, accounting, or auditing.</span></li></ul> <p><strong>Qualification:</strong></p><ul><li><span>Bachelor degree of Finance, Economics, Accounting, Risk Management, Engineering or related subjects.</span></li><li><span>Certified Risk Member of IRM (CMIRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Accountant or any relevant higher education degree or professional certification is preferred.</span></li></ul><p></p>
