<p>Job Description: Category Buyer FMCG</p><p>Position: Category Buyer FMCG</p><p>Department: Procurement</p><p>Location: Makkah Hypermarket</p><p>Job Summary:</p><p>We are seeking an experienced and skilled Category Buyer FMCG to join our procurement team at Makkah Hypermarket. The Category Buyer FMCG will be responsible for managing the purchasing activities related to Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) categories. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the FMCG industry and a proven track record of successful procurement and category management.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ol><li>Conduct market research and analysis to identify FMCG product trends, market conditions, and supplier capabilities.</li><li>Develop and implement effective procurement strategies and sourcing plans for FMCG categories to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of goods.</li><li>Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors based on quality, price, delivery, and service criteria.</li><li>Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers/vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the organization.</li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers/vendors, and monitor their performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.</li><li>Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as the merchandising team, to understand their requirements and provide guidance on product selection, pricing, and availability.</li><li>Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to proactively identify opportunities and risks in the FMCG categories.</li><li>Conduct regular category reviews to optimize the product assortment, identify potential cost-saving opportunities, and improve overall category performance.</li><li>Track and analyze key procurement metrics, such as spend, savings, supplier performance, and market intelligence, and provide regular reports to management.</li><li>Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies in FMCG procurement, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.</li></ol><p>Qualifications and Experience:</p><ol><li>Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in FMCG procurement, category management, or related roles.</li><li>Strong knowledge of FMCG product categories, market dynamics, and supplier landscape.</li><li>Proven track record of successfully managing FMCG procurement, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.</li><li>Excellent negotiation and analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers/vendors and internal stakeholders.</li><li>Proficiency in using procurement software and tools for data analysis and reporting.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.</li><li>Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving targets and driving continuous improvement.</li></ol><p>Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
