<strong><u>Job Purpose<br><br></u></strong>The Product Development team are responsible for leading new technology development and supporting existing product designs, product modification and equipment installation.<br><br>The Design Draughtsperson will be responsible for developing engineering drawings and technical documentation for a range of products and projects in accordance with department processes.<br><br><strong><u>Key Responsibilities<br></u></strong><ul><li> Developing designs in line with design request and equipment technical specification</li><li> Developing 3D CAD models in Autodesk Inventor</li><li> Developing 2D CAD models in AutoCAD</li><li> Producing manufacturing, assembly, general arrangement, layout, fabrication, machining, process flow, Piping and Instrumentation (P&ID) and schematic drawings</li><li> Developing design concepts and solutions to satisfy design request requirements.</li><li> Evaluating feasibility of design solutions in consideration of risk, ease of manufacture, cost, and lead time</li><li> Leading, attending and contributing during design reviews</li><li> Creating and issuing design instructions for the manufacture or modification of products</li><li> Liaising with external vendors and projects team during the manufacturing process to capture and record changes in design documentation.</li><li> Reviewing and checking drawings and design documentation.</li><li> Performing onshore and offshore dimensional surveys</li><li> Preparing 3D CAD renders for sales and marketing material for supporting new engineering projects</li><li> Ensuring design tasks / outputs are progressed in accordance with product development processes and procedures.</li><li> Estimating design task completion timeline</li><li> Communicating design request progress to line manager and key project stakeholders</li><li> Actively promote a positive team working environment within the Product Development and interfacing departments</li><li> Adhering to company QHSE policies and procedures<br></li></ul><strong><u>Requirements<br><br></u></strong><strong>Qualifications/Training<br><br></strong><strong><u>Essential<br><br></u></strong>Appropriate qualifications in engineering draughting<br><br><strong><u>Preferred<br></u></strong><ul><li> Mechanical OR Structural Engineering Qualifications</li><li> Chartered or working towards</li><li> BOSIET / MIST<br></li></ul><strong><u>Experience<br></u></strong><ul><li> 5+ years’ experience in engineering design and draughting</li><li> Competent in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor</li><li> Capable of carrying out dimensional surveys</li><li> Ability to work alone or part of a team.</li><li> Working in accordance with design standards</li><li> Draughting in accordance with technical drawing standards</li><li> Prioritising conflicting workloads<br></li></ul><strong><u>Preferred<br></u></strong><ul><li> Designed electrical and hydraulic equipment.</li><li> Experience with Autodesk Vault</li><li> Worked within the oil & gas industry.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Knowledge/Skills/Competencies<br></u></strong><ul><li> Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li> 2D AutoCAD</li><li> 3D Autodesk Inventor</li><li> Highly organised and able to manage competing demands.</li><li> Ability to work independently.</li><li> Dedicated to promoting a positive image of the company.</li><li> Ensures that important information is shared with employees and others as appropriate.</li><li> Gives and receives constructive feedback.</li><li> Driving licence<br></li></ul><strong><u>Preferred<br></u></strong><ul><li> Autodesk Inventor Stress and Displacement Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software</li><li> Design Calculations</li><li> Autodesk 3DS Max</li><li> Knowledge of solids controls and / or waste management technologies</li><li> DNV Container design</li><li> ATEX and CE Marking<br></li></ul>
