The NEOM project is being built from the ground up as a living laboratory incorporating sustainable cities, sustainable industries, communities, and high quality of living throughout, with technology-based services in health, education, transport, sport, entertainment, and other fields. Tourism will be a major economic driver and the number one job creator for NEOM and will be a key sector in developing the image and reputation of this new world destination.<p><br></p>The NEOM higher education sector encompasses 3 Pillars: NEOM U, ERI Foundation and the Talent Academy and will act as the primary drivers of Higher Education and research in the region, working in partnership with the key employment sectors.<p><br></p>The ERI Foundation funds a number of Applied Research Institutes (ARIs) and the Operations Manager role will manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the marine research activities in the respective ARI. The Operations Manager plays an integral role in the governance of the safety regulations of the ARIs laboratory and field work. This role is vital in managing the relationship with key authorities and sector stakeholders.<p><br></p><strong>Key Accountabilities &amp; Activities</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the ARI. </li><li> Manage and support staff, and coordinate staff resources. </li><li> Coordinate and supervise field technicians. </li><li> Organize and coordinate field research and scientific cruises. </li><li> Manage the ARI laboratory and field equipment inventory and ensure timely procurement of equipment and supplies. </li><li> Provide oversight and ensure compliance with field work and laboratory safety protocols. </li><li> Responsible for managing relationships with local authorities and other ARI stakeholders. </li><li> Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective ARI operations. </li><li> Develop and implement strategies to contribute to the continued improvement of the ARI’s operations. </li><li> Coordinate for working with other managers and departments to coordinate efforts and achieve common objectives. </li><li> Proactively address issues and solves conflicts that can occur during the day-to-day operations of the ARI. </li><li> Promptly respond to incidents and other events as necessary. </li><li> Support the ARI Director in related duties as assigned</li></ul>
