<p><strong>Hands of Hope</strong> is a Physical Therapy & Wellness hub, currently running 12 active locations in New York and around the state, strive to reinvigorate Physical Therapy adapting the latest technology in treatment and healthcare industry giving the best quality of care assisting our patients in their recovery journey and help them get back to their normal life faster.</p><p>We are looking for <strong>a Medical Billing Specialist</strong> who will work with the existing billing team on our billing services expansion maintaining the excellent quality of work.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong>:</p><ul><li>Timely submission of technical and professional medical claims to insurance companies.</li><li>Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations as required for procedures.</li><li>Eligibility check and benefits verification for treatments, hospitalizations, and procedures.</li><li>Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtaining any missing information.</li><li>Prepare, review and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.</li><li>Review patient records daily for accuracy, supply any missing information and ensure compliance with company policy and government regulations.</li><li>Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.</li><li>Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount.</li><li>Contact the insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary.</li><li>Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.</li><li>Follow up and appealing for denied claims.</li><li>Answer all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.</li><li>Setting up patient payment plans and work collection accounts.</li><li>Update billing software with rate changes.</li><li>Update cash spreadsheets and running collection reports.</li><li>Prepare daily Defect and Denial reports.</li></ul><p><br></p>
