Job Description
The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi is looking to hire a Research Associate to start as soon as possible. Applicants must have a strong background in convex and discrete optimization techniques applied to transportation/routing, location, and inventory control problems in operations research. The successful candidate should be proficient in both the theoretical and practical aspects of the work: they should be able to develop theoretical insights into non-trivial open questions in the field (and, in particular, be comfortable with reading and developing mathematical proofs in such contexts), as well as be familiar with the relevant optimization packages typically used for such problems, such as GAMS, Matlab, and others.<br><br><strong><u>Applicants Must Meet The Following Requirements<br></u></strong><ul><li> A PhD in Engineering, Operations Research or a closely related field</li><li> Expertise in convex optimization, mixed integer linear programming, and dynamic programming</li><li> Publications in top-notch journals</li><li> Excellent oral and written communication skills<br></li></ul>The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children.<br><br>Applications will be accepted immediately and candidates will be considered until the position is filled.
