Core Processing Engineer
Job Description
<p>The ideal candidate operates as part of the Operations Team with direct reporting to the Saudi Coring Manager. This position provides technical support & assistance to the warehouse and field operations for Coring.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br></p><p><u>Core Processing Engineer</u></p><ul><li>Training in geological skill development</li><li>Assist with mobilization to & from site</li><li>Assist with rig up & rig down of field equipment</li><li>Label & store geological samples</li><li>Collect samples for gas content testing</li><li>Measure gas content using in house techniques</li><li>Collection of gas composition samples</li><li>Assist with base operations such as gas content measurement,</li><li>gas composition sampling, post desorption processing (void space</li><li>measurement, milling, core slabbing, sample dispatch)</li><li>Assist with transfer of samples & data from field operations to base operations</li><li>Enter gas content & gas composition sample information</li><li>Assist with other project related tasks as directed from time to time</li><li>Support & mentor & train new employees</li><li>Maintain strict confidentiality in respect to all projects & operations.</li><li>Follow the directions of the Rig Geologist</li><li>Be prepared to work the hours/shifts required, in the locations & climates required by individual projects & to accept possible disruption to social activities. Projects may require extended periods of weekend work, work through public holiday periods, extended periods of 12 hour day or night shifts, local, interstate or international travel</li><li>General Housekeeping & maintenance of company vehicles & work stations</li><li>Any other tasks related to a project or day to day business as directed from time to time by clients or management.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Well-developed oral & written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment but also able to work independently to finish tasks & projects.</li><li>Self-motivated, enthusiastic, with a proactive attitude</li><li>Well-developed interpersonal & problem-solving skills</li><li>The maturity & discipline to take ownership of assigned duties.</li><li>The ambition & determination to become a highly valued member of our geological team.</li><li>Some industry experience would be preferred.</li><li>Sound computer skills especially Microsoft Office</li></ul>
