Job Purpose:  

The Planning and Engineering Specialist will be responsible for developing and automating processes for e-commerce and logistics systems, and designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions that improve efficiency and drive growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated processes for e-commerce and logistics systems, using tools such as RPA, APIs, and scripting languages.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets for automation initiatives.
  • Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to identify opportunities for process automation in e-commerce and logistics operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical solutions and ensure successful implementation.
  • Conduct testing and validation of technical solutions, including developing and executing test plans.
  •  Provide ongoing maintenance and support for e-commerce and logistics automation solutions, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automated processes and technical solutions. 
  • Develop technical specifications for new logistics and e-commerce systems, applications, and features.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in e-commerce and logistics automation.
  • Lead the development of R&D initiatives to drive innovation and improve efficiency in our logistics systems.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets for planning, engineering, and R&D initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in planning and engineering roles with e-commerce and logistics experience in a tech unit.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Experience in designing and developing automated processes for e-commerce and logistics systems, using tools such as RPA, APIs, and scripting languages.
  • Experience in leveraging technology to drive process improvement
  • Experience in developing technical specifications, designing and developing prototypes, and conducting testing and validation of technical solutions for logistics and e-commerce.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of R&D processes and experience in driving innovation and implementing new technologies in e-commerce and logistics systems.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong capability to build programs end to end, strong problem solving
  • Outstanding ability to partner with various departments towards outcomes
  • Willing to travel 20 to 30% of the time and work under pressure
