Summary Of The Position
The kitchen commis participates in preparing the dishes ordered by the customers, in compliance with the recipes and procedures of hygiene, safety, presentation and portions.
Required Profile
- One to two years of experience required in a similar position;
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques;
- Fluent French (reading, writing, speaking);
- Good stress management.
Main Missions
- Assist the chefs de partie in the preparation of vegetables and condiments for the next service and according to the priorities of the activity;
- Participate in the preparation of dishes ordered by customers following the recipes, and respecting the portions, quality, and presentation;
- Participate in the establishment of stations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner;
- Date all food products prepared in accordance with hygiene and safety procedures;
- Ensure that unused perishable foods are packaged and stored in adequate conditions to reduce the risk of food hygiene (temperature, containers…);
- Notify foods that require replenishment, to avoid any stock shortage that could lead to a decrease in the quality of service;
- Participate in the reduction of waste within the department;
- Maintain a clean work area;
- Provide support to departments in case of crunch at the request of his manager.
