Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Aid with technical requirements gathering and client meetings and implementing new SmartPlant Electrical environments to suit scope of project.
- Project setup as per the requirements of the company and client.
- Create an Oracle database instance if not exists already
- Maintain the SmartPlant Electrical database for projects including backups, reports, imports, data integrity, etc. including the customization of reports as per project requirements
- Trouble-shoot and solve SmartPlant Electrical problems to ensure project integrity and user support
- Develop detailed project work instructions for users
- SmartPlant Electrical Administration including creating Plant Breakdown Structure, access rights, and naming conventions, symbology, filters, reports, system maintenance, etc.
- Project deliverable customization.
- Create custom Excel reports.
- Publish Project reports for revision control.
- Create custom symbols.
- Import data from Excel
- Project support
- Help user to resolve issues and handholding in case of new users to create the following:
- Create Electrical entities.
- Associate entities.
- Create entity tabular view.
- Use Profile and Lookups.
- Generate Excel reports.
- Generate SLD.
- SPEL Administrative support
- Co-ordinate with Hexagon support as required to fix issues.
- Schedule and store SPEL Backups.
- Perform SPEL Project upgrades as per requirement
- Setup and support of SPEL Interfaces, including Import Manager
- Project Replication expertise – Develop replication plan & Replication level as per the project requirements
- Use of Import Manager to manage replication
- Produce setup documentation detailing how SmartPlant Electrical satisfies the project scope and requirements.
- Create auditing requirements and checking for quality assurance of the design effort
- Implementation of Automation tools
- Maintain and verify daily backup routines
- Help develop automation enhancements
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Working knowledge of integration with other disciplines using tools such as SmartPlant Foundation is a plus
- SmartPlant Certified System Administrator is preferred
- Strong aptitude for project planning and implementation of new design software
- Knowledge and ability to write SQL queries will be considered as an asset.
- Knowledge of AVEVA Electrical, ETAP, Comos and other Electrical tools will be considered as an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills is a must have to effectively work with the engineering disciplines
- Has the ability to effectively conduct training sessions to new usersDegree in engineering / Diploma in Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- Strong understanding of SP Electrical and other intelligent 2D Electrical applications, engineering design, drafting applications.
- Multiple project execution exposure essential.
- 8-12 years’ experience in SP Electrical Administration covering advanced administration and user support.
- Managed & administered large size projects (with 20+ users) executed using the SP Electrical Application.
- Experience of SP Instrumentation preferred.
