Overview
We are seeking senior Petroleum Engineer (Gas Production) to join the Gas Production Engineering Division, under the Northern Area Production Engineering & Well Services Department.
Saudi Aramco offers experienced engineers the opportunity to develop and manage world-class fields. We are looking for highly skilled professionals to join us at our Production Engineering Department in Northern Area, Saudi Arabia to manage some of the world’s largest off-shore gas wells. Our production engineers manage unique high pressure/temperature, high rate gas wells and fields, fitted with new technologies, highly specialized downhole equipment and surface production facilities.
This technical role requires proficient skills in gas production engineering and mastery/ advisory skills in one of the following specialties; Wellheads, Well Completions, Well Control, Well Interventions, and Flow Assurance. In addition to conducting production engineering duties, this role will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice and guidance to the business in one of the five specialties identified above.
This position is embedded within the Northern Area Production Engineering Department. As a technical consultant in gas production engineering, the incumbent will engage with leaders and experts from across the upstream business of Saudi Aramco.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert technical advice to Northern Area Oil Operations (NAOO) Management on best practices for one of the five specialties listed above
Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing technical leadership and advice to engineering community in one of the five specialties listed above
Conduct engineering studies to resolve complex technical problems that may occur in one of the specialties listed above
Reviews and evaluates the capabilities of vendors and contractors to determine their acceptability to perform major services for Gas Wells and facilities
Undertake special assignments requiring extensive technical experience
Provide production guidelines for safe operation of high pressure, high rate gas wells to meet high gas demand while maintaining well integrity
Perform production optimization activities to ensure reliability and optimum well performance
Lead technical review of procedures to ensure efficient/economic project delivery
Champion new technologies aimed at improving well productivity and streamlining efficiency
Conduct seminars; prepare manuals, mentor and train young engineers and operating personnel
Lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams
Represent Saudi Aramco in external technical contacts with consultants, and vendors, etc.
Participate in technical societies and groups. Write papers for peer reviewed journals
Minimum Requirements
Should have a BS degree in engineering. M.S. or PhD in engineering is desirable. Professional Engineer license or registration is also desirable
have a minimum of 18-20 years of related engineering experience including at least 3-5 years related to HP/HT Gas field (i.e. Wellheads, Well Completions, Well Control, Well Interventions, and Flow Assurance)
Should have achieved industry recognition in the specialized area through activities in professional societies and industrial organizations such as SPE, NACE, etc. Technical publications are valued but in-depth practical experience is paramount
Ability to communicate ideas clearly with specialists in producing operations, reservoir management, well intervention, and drilling
Mastery skills level in one of the specialties listed above
Demonstrated ability to apply industry standards in the specialties listed above
