Job Description
As a Fraud Risk Manager, you’ll be defining, implementing, embedding, and optimizing the Internal Fraud Risk Strategy & Framework for Mamo, enabling the management of Internal Fraud Risk and driving sustainable value-add through the reduction of fraud-related losses across the Mamo.<p><br></p>The Fraud Risk Manager will play a key role in the design and implementation of Internal Fraud Prevention and Detection Strategies across Mamo, working closely with the wider Fraud Risk Team (2nd Line of Defence). The Fraud Risk Manager will be responsible for providing effective oversight of the 1st Line of Defence, as well as conducting and supporting investigations, assurance and thematic reviews, and wider initiatives which feed into organizational education and the ongoing improvement of systems, controls, and procedures.<p><br></p>What you will do<p><br></p><ul><li>Collaborate cross-functionally to identify, assess, document, and regularly review risks of all types</li><li>Work closely with Engineering teams to design and execute stress tests to evaluate the impact of operational risks on the organisation’s financial performance and operations</li><li>Assist with the development and implementation of operational risk policies, risk procedures, risk indicators, and other risk-related frameworks</li><li>Own the end-to-end risk incident management process</li><li>Effectively manage a team of R&C Analysts responsible for KYC/KYB/transaction monitoring, ongoing CDD and fraud/ML investigations. </li><li>Define, developing and optimising the Internal Fraud Prevention and Detection Strategies at Mamo, in accordance with risk appetite and prevailing regulatory requirements. </li><li>Act as an Internal Fraud Subject-Matter-Expert across the Group, providing oversight, challenge and opinion on the management of Fraud Risk by the regulators; inclusive of response to Risk Incidents. </li><li>Prepare fraud-related data/trend analysis for management reporting and regulatory reporting. Propose fraud-related initiatives based on the trends identified</li><li>Work closely with payment processors and other third parties to use their fraud prevention tools and implement necessary internal measures to mitigate risks</li><li>Responsible for handling of fraud or money laundering investigations (reviewing transaction data, customer profiles and patterns) and preparing reports for MLRO review<br><br></li></ul>What we’re looking for<p><br></p><ul><li>5+ years of fraud and risk management experience within financial services. </li><li>Experience in fraud risk legislation and regulation (globally is desirable e.g. DFSA, FCA). </li><li>Experience with internal fraud investigations including transaction monitoring and use of fraud detection tools with pre-set parameters and rules</li><li>A background in law, engineering, or finance is desirable</li><li>Demonstrated ability to use analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues</li><li>Proven ability to rapidly develop subject matter expertise in technical and non-technical areas. </li><li>Ability to communicate technical matters effectively with senior leaders. </li><li>Strong and eloquent command of the English language, both verbal and written</li><li>Professional certifications such as ICA/CAMS/CISI certificates in financial crime prevention or risk management<br><br></li></ul>Nice to haves<p><br></p><ul><li>Ability to prepare and present training material to enhance knowledge and improve decision making. </li><li>Passion and knowledge in FinTech / startups<br><br></li></ul>Why you’ll love working here<p><br></p><ul><li>Startup environment that’s big on individual responsibility and leans on process and automation</li><li>We’re big on culture.
