Overview

The Fitness Director is responsible for program planning and execution, labor and supervision of contract labor fitness centers that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Services provided shall include resale operations, facility & equipment management and repair, fitness instructional classes and personal training, a volunteer program, sports leagues, special events, incentive programs and other supporting activities, and answer customer feedback as specified in the Performance Work Statement. The Fitness Director shall perform all services IAW current AFI 36-2905, Air Force Fitness Program, AFI 34-266, Fitness, Sports, and World Class Athlete Program, U.S. Air Forces Central Command Instruction 34-1, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Programming and Funding, local and host nation policies, guidance and requirements necessary to meet mission requirements. The Fitness Director reports to the Recreational Programs Director/Assistant Site Manager and may be required to supervise other personnel to include but not limited to: Core Sports Leader and Fitness Center Clerks.

Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall management, execution, and personnel supervision of the Fitness Centers as specified in the Performance Work Statement.
  • Responsible for communicating and upholding company standards, leading by example and providing clean, friendly and well maintained fitness centers.
  • Shall ensure life expectancies for equipment items are documented in detail (5-year plan).
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented training program.
  • Responsible for successful implementation of all contractual matters and CDRL reports at designated site/location in conjunction with the Site Manager and PMO.
  • Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).
  • Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.
  • Shall perform as supplemental personnel as needed for all Installation Service functional areas.
  • Shall ensure oversight of LN workforce in accordance with 332 AEWI and AFCENTI 32-1002.
  • Shall perform escort duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements.

Working Environment:

  • Work will be indoors and outdoors. Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur. Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs. Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions. Task specific work environment training will be provided as required. Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U. S. interests. 100% Overseas Assignment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • Must have a High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor Degree in related field preferred
  • Current American Red Cross CPR/AED and first aid certification
  • Cross Fit, Personal Training or Group Instructor certification (upload all certifications to applicant profile)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current, valid U. S. Passport and U. S. Driver’s License.
  • Must be certified or shall be willing to receive certification to drive up to a 10K forklift.
  • Must be able to or shall be willing to learn to drive manual transmission vehicles.
  • Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
  • Must be able to pass MOD15 employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
  • Candidates must successfully complete hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training. Training includes the successful fit testing of DoD provided protective gear.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ of experience in supervising and managing DoD sports and fitness management or 8 (eight) years’ of comparable civilian experience. Management experience to include: supervision of employees, completed required reports, and dealing professionally with the customer.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and supervisory skills.
  • Must be skilled with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission requirements
  • Military experience in a contingency environment and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred.
