Our environment is based on respect and having a good day at work, so you can expect to join a knowledgeable, global team who help each other to succeed.<p><br></p><strong>Job Title: </strong> <strong>Service /Design Engineer-Structural, MENA</strong><p><br></p><strong>Job Level: </strong><strong>T2</strong><p><br></p><strong><u>Purpose</u></strong><p><br></p>Conduct category inspections onsite as per API standard and inspect and supervise the quality of all structural and piping components as and when needed and provide Structural, Mechanical, and/or Piping Drafting & Engineering Support to the Engineering Department. Provide technical assistance to clients, suppliers and perform/oversee fabrication, installations, survey and repairs both at subcontractor and client facilities.<p><br></p><u><strong>Accountabilities</strong></u><p><br></p><ul><li>Work with customers and suppliers to resolve structural and piping component/system issues</li><li>Achieve and maintain a sound understanding of structural industry standards for structure manufacturing</li><li>Provide list of resources required to perform any site job based on the experience</li><li>Accountable to actions in relation to red marking the drawings with any modifications and changes and update this to engineering upon return from each visit.</li><li>Establish and maintain a good working relationship with on-site customer representative</li><li>Accountable for developing the BOM/list for any replacement materials upon return from site visit</li><li>Provide technical support to the DLS and Sales Teams</li><li>Provides mentoring / training for all less experienced Service Engineers</li><li>Provide accurate layout/assembly drawings from design calculations and/or concept drawings</li><li>Provide accurate detailed drawings from layout/assembly drawings,</li><li>Check layouts and/or detailed drawings when required to ensure drawing accuracy</li><li>Produce Sales drawings when/if required</li><li>Assist in all project Engineering activities</li><li>Review customer specifications needed to ensure structural product integrity</li><li>Support onsite service jobs through conducting API inspections, rig structural surveys, rig repair & installation supervision and inspections at suppliers facility.</li><li>Stay current on information contained in Product and Safety Bulletins</li><li>Support the company’s yearly strategic objectives</li><li>Interact with customers and other HMH personnel in a professional manner</li><li>Complete all work in compliance with company and customer’s policies and procedures for HSSE</li><li>Be guided by HMH Visions and Values in all activities</li></ul><p><br></p><u><strong>Competence Requirements</strong></u><p><br></p><ul><li>BS or higher in an Engineering discipline</li><li>Two (2)+ years experience in structural and/or piping fabrication and repairs</li><li>Four (4)+ years’ experience in structural design using AISC design specification</li><li>Two (2)+ years experience working on oil drilling rigs</li><li>American Welding Society – Certified Welding Inspector</li><li>ASNT Level II or III or CSWIP 3.1 or higher</li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD, MathCAD, STAAD PRO & FEA</li><li>Ability to read piping one-line and isometric drawings</li><li>Ability to work for long periods and in extreme environmental conditions</li><li>Ability to share knowledge with the customers</li><li>Ability to perform API RP 4G CAT III & IV inspections</li><li>Ability to supervise with complete knowledge Upgrades and Repair work on Mast, Substructure and offshore Derricks</li><li>Ability to perform basic Structural Engineering Analysis</li><li>Provides authoritative advice and expertise to diagnose, investigate and solutions to moderately complex problems</li><li>Excellent analytical skills</li><li>Competent with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)</li><li>Preferably proficient in written and reading comprehension of English & Arabic</li><li>Excellent verbal communication skills</li><li>Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team</li><li>Ability to support co-worker with technical inquiries & training</li><li>Ability to take initiative and be accountable for own decisions and actions</li><li>Ability to focus on and bring to conclusion to multiple tasks</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative</li><li>Ability to pre-empt situations and react positively</li><li>Organized and methodical, high integrity and ethical values</li><li>Ability to negotiate and communicate at all levels to coordinate tasks effectively between different Groups/Departments</li></ul>
