<p><strong><u>Summary:</u></strong></p><p>Performs and evaluates a variety of Cytochemical, Microscopic, Immunological, procedures/testing in the Anatomic Pathology section to obtain accurate data for diagnosis and treatment of disease.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Essential Responsibilities and Duties:</u></strong></p><p><br></p><p>1. Prepares microscopic slides from specimens of scrapings, or other exudates, and fixes them. Stains and mount slides to preserve specimen and enhance visibility of cells under the microscope.</p><p>2. Studies under the microscope cells of human body to detect evidence of cellular abnormalities including hormonal abnormalities and other pathological conditions according to established standards and practice. Reports abnormalities to pathologist.</p><p>3. Assists in FNA procedures by evaluating the cellular adequacy of specimens obtained from patients including those obtained in Endoscopy unit or under radiological guidance (ultrasound and CT).</p><p>4. Adheres to College of American Pathologists (CAP) standard CYP.08300 to meet CLIA requirement of total number of slides examined or reviewed in all laboratories during a twenty-four (24) hour period.</p><p>5. Ensures that optimum levels of supplies are available to provide uninterrupted services; maintains an ordering and supply inventory system.</p><p>6. Adheres to all lab safety protocols to avoid contamination of specimens and minimize the risk of workplace incidents.</p><p>7. Maintains quality control of the subsection. Participates in the Quality Assurance program of the</p><p>subsection. Maintains equipment repair logs and equipment operation, maintenance, and repair records of subsection.</p><p>8. Trains, and provides continuing education and guides to students and other healthcare personnel, including Residents.</p><p>9. Comply with the section policies, procedures and protocols. follow the section quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, CAP, SFDA and other international accreditation agencies standards.</p><p>10. Participates in self and other’s education, training and development, as applicable.</p><p>11. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.</p><p>12. Performs other related duties as assigned.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Education Requirements:</u></strong></p><p>Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Sciences is required.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Experience Requirements:</u></strong></p><p>Grade 08:</p><p>Two (2) years of related experience with Bachelor’s Degree is required.</p>
