Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
To participate in handling complex matters related to the field of law. Jobholder will provide expert legal services in complex legal assignments. Jobholder will also demonstrate increasing competence in applying legal skills and departmental practices, plus evidence of maturity and judgment to help analyse and solve corporate legal problems, dealing with internal and external parties accordingly.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
路Follow all relevant policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
路Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the area of work, ensuring compliance with the established standards and procedures
路Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to subordinates and inter-company departments and business units, while maintaining work balance
路Prepare, review and manage legal issues and lawsuits , attend hearings and write legal reports
路Represent the corporate in court or government agencies (as the case may require) and present evidence if needed to defend the corporation in criminal, civil or commercial litigation
路Prepare and review agreements and contracts as well as legal drafting and vetting of government and commercial contracts and agreements, maintaining accurate and up-to-date data
路Advise and provide various business sectors with key legal considerations, enhancing the decision-making process
路Review, develop agreements and internal policies, ensuring that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements
路Provide legal protection and risk management advice to the management especially on contract management
路Advise the corporation in general corporate matters such as major business transactions
路Liaise with internal departments and SBU鈥檚 in operational and technical issues
路Monitor the regulatory and legal compliance of the corporation and SBUs
路Ensure compliance to all relevant safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department guaranteeing employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude
EDUCATION:
路Bachelor degree in Law or any relevant discipline is required, Master degree is preferred.
路Advanced English language proficiency is required.
EXPERIENCE:
路Minimum of five years work experience with at least two of which in a relevant function.
路Corporate law experience / or GRC experience with legal background.
