Overview
We are seeking an experienced Process Control System Technician to join Ras Tanura Refinery of Saudi Aramco Global Manufacturing admin area located in the eastern province of KSA.
Ras Tanura refinery is responsible for processing 550 barrels a day of crude and condensate to produce nearly 40% of kingdom demand from Diesel, Gasoline, Jet fuel Naphtha and Isomerate.
Your primary role will be to carry out all aspects of maintenance, modification, calibration and testing of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), process control systems such as Digital Control Systems (DCS), and SCADA. You will perform specialized troubleshooting, fault diagnosis routine maintenance, and health assessment for all types of control systems.
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and replacement of Process Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), control and instrument loops, field instrumentation, variable frequency drives, communication network systems, combustible and H2S detection systems, and HMI computer work stations in accordance with industry standards.
Troubleshoot field and control room processes and equipment using appropriate test equipment and diagnostics.
Install DCS systems, process instrumentation, PLC based control and instrument loops, communication network systems, HMI computer workstations.
Respond effectively to emergency fault conditions anywhere within your assigned area, without assistance. Perform emergency field repairs replacing parts as required. Reassembles and recalibrates equipment, runs operating tests to ensure satisfactory repair.
Provide work direction and technical assistance to team members.
Update databases with information regarding assigned work orders, equipment calibration, repair and parts inventory and orders parts.
Maintain maintenance logs and prepare work reports.
Review proposed control system changes and provide feedback on requirements. Participate in the management of change process.
Interpret technical documentation – data sheets, vendor manuals, troubleshooting flowcharts etc. Interpret/prepare technical drawings – from simple schematics to complex PID’s, ILD’s and PLC ladder logic diagrams.
Perform detailed functional tests on systems integrated from different vendors.
Locate and interpret relevant technical information, such as data sheets, vendor manuals and troubleshooting flowcharts.
Minimum Requirements
You must have a minimum of 12 years’ experience as a Process Control System technician or similar in a manufacturing or production environment.
You should be able to demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of control systems.
Whilst an engineering degree is preferred, a diploma or equivalent education certificate will be accepted.
