Product Designer
Job Description
<p>This position will assist with the development of complex products, while keeping in mind the user experience and ease of manufacturing. Will work on developing and visualizing ideas from sketches to 3D models.</p><p><br></p><p>The applicant must be motivated and passionate about their work, open to learn and research, collaborative, and able to work in a creative environment. The applicant must be well organised as to maintain and update an organised folder relating to the designs and models that are performed.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Product design and manufacturing</p><p> ● Conduct design research: tools and methods of knowing the user.</p><p> ● Conduct manufacturing research: methods, procedures, and requirements.</p><p> ● Make hands-on prototypes to test and validate ideas using different prototyping materials (foamboard, wood, etc.)</p><p> ● Perform sketches and technical drawings.</p><p> ● Develop advanced and complex 3D models.</p><p> ● Coordinate closely with design team members to achieve a harmonious design.</p><p> ● Prepare files for manufacturing purposes.</p><p> ● Create visually appealing and realistic renders: complex setups, different materials and diverse lighting systems.</p><p> ● Send continuous feedback to the upper management, about the timeline of the tasks as well as manufacturing and design processes.</p><p> ● Document all findings and procedures in the library, based on the design department defined structure.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Knowledge Sharing</p><p>● Stay up to date with the latest market trends and developments. Share them with the team to achieve an optimal workflow and improve R&D efficiency.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Technical Competencies</strong></p><p>● English proficiency.</p><p>● Field research skills.</p><p>● Knowledge of materials, finishes, textures.</p><p>● Advanced 3D modelling skills.</p><p>● Product rendering skills.</p><p>● Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
