Job Description
Overview
The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and maintenance and repair of Carpentry related systems, structures, and equipment. The position ensures that all work is completed to comply with all safety and code requirements. The duties and responsibilities listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and install real property including but not limited to wood and metal products, doors, floors, walls, roofs, windows, decks, and stairs.
- Perform interior and exterior building maintenance along with trim and finish work.
- Perform minor furniture and fixture repairs.
- Respond to emergency carpentry issues and failures – 24/7/365.
- Document and report deficiencies and faults.
- As directed, provide guidance and supervision of the work and performance of subordinate employees.
- Ensure that completed work meets safety, quality, and carpentry code standards.
- Complete all required trainings.
- As directed, assist with work order scheduling and ensure assigned work is completed in full.
- Provide reporting and data as required.
- As required, monitor parts and materials inventory levels.
- Submit purchase requests to replenish materials and equipment.
- Observe and enforce Carpentry SOP’s, processes, quality, and safety standards.
Qualifications
Education / Certifications:
- High School diploma, GED, or, equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license from home of record.
- Completion of a Carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred.
- Current Journeyman Carpentry license, or, equivalent is preferred.
Experience:
- Three (3) years carpentry experience in construction, or, operations and maintenance services. One (1) year of supervisory experience is desired.
Skills & Technology Used:
- Knowledge of applicable U.S. Codes and acceptable trade practices. Including but not limited to Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) standards, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- Previous carpentry experience in an international environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Ability to read and interpret facility system and construction diagrams, blueprints, drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards of the carpentry trade, related safety precautions, and considerable skill required for the installation, maintenance, and repair of carpentry systems and equipment.
- General knowledge of industrial safety and environmental regulations.
- Good organizational and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgement and make independent decisions.
- Knowledge of principles and processes in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer skills, specifically, Excel and Word.
- Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
- Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
- Strong oral and written English communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship is required.

Familiarity with MS Office programs – MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, etc…

Experience with Outlook, or, similar email systems, Carpentry hand and power tools.
