ABOUT SHIFT EV:

Shift EV is a fast growing electric vehicle technology company, based in Cairo, Egypt. Our vision is to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in Egypt and the region by developing state-of-the-art electric drivetrain solutions. You will work with world-class technology veterans from MIT, University of Grenoble, Intel, Corning, GM and MCV to build a venture with transformative potential.

YOU’LL WORK ON:

You will add on the fast moving department of supply chain with its four main pillars to help effectively and efficiently deliver our proprietary high tech product for the electric vehicle market. You will have an early focus on logistics & procurement functions and will be reporting to the procurement lead.

YOU’LL HAVE OWNERSHIP OVER:

  • Sourcing and developing new supplier relationships both globally and locally to cover our direct material needs and managing the procurement process incl.

    • Creating POs and supervising their execution and closing

    • Drafting long-term agreements/contracts with suppliers

    • Negotiating prices and achieving set savings targets

  • Managing the entire global logistics process in collaboration with our logistics partners

    • Managing logistics operations either local, import or export

    • Following up and reviewing shipping documents issuance / Clearing import shipments

  • Managing Claims processes

    • Supplier management and sourcing activities to achieve higher quality

    • Collaborating with quality & warehousing departments on a TQM basis for receiving and evaluating items/services

    • Executing claims with our suppliers

  • Engaging with Engineering and Manufacturing to identify supply gaps and/or goals

  • Ensuring accurate data management of our procurement and logistics documentation in SAP in collaboration with Finance

YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, supply chain or similar

  • 4 to 6 years of work experience with exposure to SC, Procurement and logistics related topics (globally and locally)

  • Prior experience in the automotive industry preferred

  • Experience working with SAP is a plus

  • Previous interactions with freight forwarders and customs preferred

  • An audacious and ambitious enthusiast for cleantech and climate change mitigation, with a passion for electric vehicles. You want to change the world!

  • A resourceful problem solver with a track record of working on entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial projects

  • An excellent communicator who is able to work with different styles of people and influence different stakeholders

  • You have a lot of grit and agility to work with ambiguity and uncertainty
