<p>Wood has an opportunity for a<strong> Weight Control Engineer</strong> to join our team in Qatar on a long-term basis. This is a key role within the Wood Doha office delivering across study, FEED, EPC and PMC scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of project work in accordance with the project execution plan, including Wood and/or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control within the man-hour, cost and the project schedule targets.</p><p> </p><p>Reflecting the market focus for the office in both brownfield and green field opportunities, multi-skilled personnel are sought, in particular those with experience in:</p><ul><li>Onshore Oil and Gas</li><li>Offshore Oil and Gas</li></ul><p> </p><p>Responsibilities: </p><ul><li>Leading and guiding weight control efforts</li><li>Involved in conceptual studies, optimization work and FEEDs as part of a large team.</li><li>Provide technical and supervisory support to all offshore projects in Oil and Gas portfolio.</li><li>Interface with multiple engineering disciplines and lead efforts, as required, to apply weight control methods for completed systems.</li><li>Focus on developing and implementing weight control plans including: </li><li>Establishing system weight control processes</li><li>Estimating system and component weights</li><li>Assessing weight risk on systems</li><li>Tracking and reporting weight status</li><li>Implementing weight control</li><li>Weight reduction plans</li><li>Document and report the status of weight control efforts to project management.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Skills/Qualification </p><ul><li>Degree in Engineering or relevant Science subject</li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in similar role in the oil and gas industry</li><li>Preferred brownfield experience in the Upstream industry</li><li>Strong background in conceptual studies and FEED level offshore facilities design and / or EPC</li><li>Possess a broad knowledge of all the component parts of topsides design and able to challenge and influence the study team members to develop technically sound and optimized solutions.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable to work in, and provide a cohesive role in, multi-discipline / multi-center at conceptual, FEED and EPC level.</li><li>Experience of project control and scheduling</li><li>Possess a good working understanding of the disciplines that interface with topsides design i.e. subsea, risers, jackets, installation, drilling and reservoir technology</li><li>Excellent knowledge of excel and data management tools</li></ul><p></p>
