The Line Side Support SME will be working in accordance with Part M Regulatory Framework to provide technical expertise and support to the Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO).
They will ensure accurate and consistent fault diagnosis of aircraft faults which will therefore prevent repeat occurrences of faults, reduce maintenance man-hours and asset removals whilst improving aircraft availability.
This position requires extensive platform knowledge (Typhoon) in both Mechanical and Electrical systems.
Core Activity:
- Offering technical expertise and at-elbow support to maintainers
- Working closely with the Reliability Team to identify repeat Engineering Support System (ESS) arisings and then trigger appropriate rectification activity
- Working with Design Organisations and OEMs, Maintenance Tasking and Verification Part 145 organisations, Reliability and Maintenance Programme team and other key stakeholders in order to deliver the required standards of Continuing Airworthiness
- Reviewing and reporting on the effectiveness of Technical Query Management, including feedback to the Design Organisations and Suppliers. Ensure any trends are identified and escalated as appropriate
- Raising Technical Publication Request Forms (TPRF) for errors in fault diagnostic data modules and Technical Queries if new arising are identified
- Will provide expertise in the use of Data Bus Test Equipment, Ground Loading Unit & Software Loading
- Maintaining Intervention Register
- Assist with on the job briefings to ensure technical knowledge is transferred to the AMO maintainers
- Following the local SHE Plans where appropriate, Carry out Accident/Incident information collation and reporting and report hazardous occurrences whenever appropriate
- Attending local SHE meetings and reviews as required
Requirements
- Minimum of a recognised qualification to NVQ4/HNC level in a relevant technical discipline, or Part 66 Cat B qualified or suitable equivalent
- It is essential to have 3-5 years LSS operational experience
- Recent experience, to a level appropriate for their role, within a Maintenance & Support environment, including direct experience of supporting or maintaining fleets of aircraft
- This position requires extensive platform knowledge (Typhoon) in both Mechanical and Electrical systems
- Ability to analyse and interpret data
