Job Summary
The Leasing Director oversees and manages the leasing activities, Negotiation of existing leases, pricing, lease execution and renewal for the Mall of Qatar. Provides vision, direction and leadership to the leasing team in order to achieve budgeted targets.
The Leasing Director will be key in decision making in establishing the brand positioning with long term growth aligned with the business objectives.
Job Responsibilities 1
Approve and oversee licensing administration, including applications process, waiting list maintenance, Mall walk-throughs and allocations, license agreement/renewal execution, oversee and approve exit and entry coordination.
Maximise business opportunities by negotiating with brands, leading the leasing team, consultants and managing the mall leasing program and initiatives to continually improve the performance and positioning of the organization.
Maximise leasing opportunities to achieve/exceed revenue goals.
Nurtures and maintains positive relationships with tenants and retailers to support and promote loyalty to the Mall of Qatar.
Maximizes relationships to increase retailer and tenant retention
Maximizes budgetary resources and manage the department within budget constraints
Secure the “best of the best” exhibitors and products for market
Generate and Maintain Real Estate Action Plan (REAP)
Develop and manage the top 30 most wanted Retailers in the GCC.
Incubate smaller retailers through pop-up stores and kiosks.
Manage Landlord negotiations and communications ensuring the optimum Real Estate location, construction, and tenancy deal for Retailers and in the best interest of the Mall of Qatar.
Ensure administration of all written MoQ Landlord communications from initial offering to finalisation of lease ensuring the deal is delivered as negotiated.
Manage the process with Facilities Management so that approved stores are opened on time and delivered in the manner presented while meeting obligatory expectations
Directs, develops and coordinates leasing strategies and growth for mall leasing.
Prospects for new tenants in all retail categories within the GCC including luxury and international brands.
Expand the number of kiosks with differentiated offers for each category.
Explore and increase vending as a growth stream for the Mall
Build long term partnerships and increase negotiations with out of the box retailing opportunities (banks, car dealerships etc)

Job Knowledge & Skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to motivate and lead a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly find answers to questions and apply them to issues at hand
• Communicating effectively is a needed skill both written and verbal
• Marketing skills: apply technology / social media to build vendor and client relations
• Computer skills and software knowledge, preferably MRI
• Reviewing lease documents including leases, amendments, assignments, terminations, etc. prior to signature
• Experience working in a “high volume†sales, leasing, retail and or shopping center management functio
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience
10 Years of experience.
5 years in Managerial role.
GCC experience preferred.
